Just boost up her confidence.. Tell her she is beautiful and that she doesn't need to do what she does.. Also explain to her that you are worried about her health.. Doing things like that can make you really sick.. I know a girl that's bulimic, she's been for 2 years and now her hair is falling out.. Explain to her she will look worse in the long run by doing whats she's doing.. Maybe mention to her that she should seek counseling.. Or tell her parents, that's what I had to do...

Unfortunately, this is a disease - chances are you aren't going to say or do anything to "make her quit". However, you being a caring friend, might approach the topic with honest concern for her health. There are professionals who know how to deal with this illness as well as several good books that may be helpful to both of you.

you need to let her know that life is short , she needs to love herself and get past this . she won't be able to replace the time that she is losing now by making herself sick , there are many other wonderful qualities about you ladies other than being paper thin . you don't know what the future holds , so don't take it for granted now , if she keeps making herself sick , she may not have a future . i have seen many a beautiful smile on ladies of all ages wether they weigh 90 or 400 lbs. beauty is in the eye of the beholder - not the toilet bowl! good luck to your friend !

By the way BDD is body dysmorphic disorder, where you think your body is ugly or beyond bearable to look at for others, a personal myth.
I like poo_hed's answer about turning her on to anorexia instead. Bulimia is about extremes and overdoing it, they can consume 3000 calories in one eating, and they often purge (vomit, self-induced) which can erode the passageway behind the nose and damage the tongue.
Ask her if she can try being pro-ana instead and control her urges to over-eat.

There isn't really much you can do. Bulimia often stems from BDD, which is a perceptual thing. The best you can do, I think, is to tell this person that they are lovely and ask them to seek professional help.

Explain your concerns to her, and offer to help her in any way that she asks of you. Then back off of the subject. Only she can make the decision to quit, and pestering her about it may only cause her to put you out of her life. Just be there for her, and let her make the choice.

If you do not know her well, how did you get this information? If she spoke about this with you, then you can speak clearly with her about the matter and so, maybe, you can help. Otherwise, you must become a real friend of herr before speaking about this.
