My dear Friend:
As someone who himself has experienced a mentally torturing childhood, had three members of his family suffer years of sexual, physical, and mental abuse, and 101 other things happen to me I would not wish on my worst enemy: I can Empathise with you, as I felt like ending it all more than I care to count, and tried twice!!
First of all, Be Brave, swallow all fear and pride: and seek help (it took me 23 years, and the loss of my wife and child to do so)...
You can get through this...
life's a ***** sometimes and deals some rough cards, but we can survive our pasts and have a bright and happy future... All you have to do is take the first step.
Be it a friend, doctor, shrink, minister: there is someone out there you can talk to, and who can help you. I found my answer in Christ Jesus and His healing love...you may do the same: but whatever you do.. seek help, and talk to someone about this!!
It will be difficult, sometimes painful, but I promise you there is light at the end of the tunnel.. All you have to do is want to walk towards it!!
Good luck my friend, & God bless you: Know you are not alone.

People can cope with various thoughts for as long as they can and want. Clearly you can't and don't want anymore. You have decided to let it out. So definitely and urgently talk to a psychiatrist. Talk about your problem freely and openly. Start a hobby or something you have always wanted to do. This way you will find a source of joy in your life. You are not losing your friends and if you do, I am sorry to tell you, they are not true friends. Look how many people answered your question and took the time to write long answers. You are not alone! Exposing your issue to the Y! community is a first big step cos it partly shows you are fully aware that this is a situation you do not want to be in. So, well done! What you have to do now is also talk very openly to a therapist. I strongly believe you will make it and I am not the kind of person that simply talks sympathetically. In my experience people who ask questions always get the answers... and that's exactly what you are doing here. Don't forget! we are all here for you!

Hey dude, id give you two strong recomendations. First one, go to a psychiatrist, and talk about this... although that must sound boring, so whatever.
2. Try this, worked for a good friend of mine.. if you are realy thinking of suiciding, go and do a dkydiving jump. When in the air, what my friend did was, he did not pull on the cord of the chute until he figured out if his life was worth living or not. At that point, you will be in a live/die situation, and you will see if you life is worth living.
Hope this helps.

I am so sorry that you are suffering. Do you really want to die or do you just want your problems to disappear? You should see your GP and tell him what has been going on you may have a underlying psychological problem which has been left undiagnosed and with the right medication you may be able to stop these suicidal thoughts. Also the Samaritans is a good place to explore your feelings I think you can phone them email and now I think you can text them. I wish you good luck.

if you ever feel suicidal, contact an emergency crisis line or dial 911. I would recommend you consider going to a counselor soon to talk about you suicidal thoughts and they can help you deal with them. Remember that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

It's the action that counts... as long as you haven't acted on them, you can go on. It's not easy, though- I know, I've been there.
Meds may help. Cognitive therapy may help. Are you in treatment? If not, then seek it- now. Treatment's not easy to find these days, especially good treatment.
And unfortunately, it doesn't help to talk to friends who haven't been there. They have never been in your shoes and cannot understand. More often then not, they just make it worse as they tend to minimize the problem. It's not as easy as they think it is!
Check out support groups like DBSA and Recovery, Inc. And get on the NAMI forums and About.com has good on-line forums where you can talk to peers.
And above all, try to keep occupied with things that get you out of yourself- occupy your mind, as much as you can, with other things.

You are right, a year is too long, and so is one hour.
Please try to cope longer. Chances are good that you are intelligent and sensitive. Guess how valuable that might be to other people?

Meds work, seriously. Zoloft has done wonders for me, life is way better. See a shrink and get some pills. You have a chemical imbalance that is treatable. You'll be amazed how much the pain can be diminished.
