If you go to Vitamin World, they have out for display, and for sale, an encyclopedia of herbs and such. I can't remember the name, but you can look at it before you buy it. You can also go to Vitamin World's website and look up the medicinal uses of many herbs by using their "HealthNotes" system. It's free and pretty reliable.

On www.amazon.com, there is a Dr. Cass Ingram who has written several books relating to herbs. All of his books are excellent in scope. The one that I am particularly impressed with is called Respiratory Solution. It has been effectively helping me with high blood pressure and watching my weight in general.
