It's good, but far from the greatest. It's not even the greatest on TV right now. That's got to be either Lost or 24.

Most anything on comedy central is better.
I like funny people better than funny drawings.
The Daily show
The Colbert Report.
The showbiz show.
Mind of Mencia.
The Chapelle Show. (If Dave ever comes back to pick up his $50 million check.
And for cartoons they have South Park. It's much funnier and topical than Family guy.

It's a typical, mindless, degrading family show however, I would not project it to be the greatest -and it's entertainment only because it's not a show that I would allow any young children to watch. Strictly a show for short laughs -

Yeah, probably. It's pretty good. I also like the british version of The Office, but that's not being made anymore. I also like The Oblongs, it's kinda sick but kinda funny.

its genius, but the simpsons pips it for me even though both shows are very similar in some ways but different in others but both make me laugh a lot
