Now I don't think I am either the smartest person nor the dumbest person around, but to be honest I read about three or four other answers before I even made the connection. So in short I really don't think it will be that big of a deal. It is a great name, I had considered it if I have a boy! Good Luck!

Well I do not think I would do it I am sure he would be the only half black baby out there named Tanner LOL...
Its a cute name...just would be kind of funny...

I do know someone though who named her last child Ender so I guess it wouldn't be any worse than that!

If you like the name Tanner, no, its not. What does the ethnic background have to do with the name of a child?Would you rather have a half Caucasian/Hispanic, whatever the case may be, and name him Deshun?Tanner is a good name for any young man, little boy.He is your child, and you will be the one to call his name when he is in trouble, lol, so make it something that you don't mind saying...I have a Joshua Matthew, and a Madison Danielle...Some folks don't like the names I chose for our children, but did they labor, and give birth..It is your CHOICE!!

The race of the child shouldn't have anything to do with the name that you choose for your child. If you like the name, then by all means go with it.

I think that you can name your child any name you want, but remember that children can be very cruel. If your child has a tannish skin color because of the mixed race, he will be teased about it. But, ultimately, the choice is still yours to make. It is after all---your child.

That's a cute name for a boy.......Why do you have to racially stereotype the baby, though????? We are all one race- THE HUMAN RACE.....Good luck with the little one, they're great and bring you more joy than you've ever imagined possible........

No that name is good. I think it shouldn't matter what you name your baby whether your white, black or whatever.

If you like the name or any other name--name your child what you want.

Other names:

Julian
Torrence
Lucian
Kennedy
Kendall
Leeland
Avery
Wade
Jadence

Good luck and congrats
