The same thing they are doing their first few weeks of life. Just figuring out their hands and legs and getting their muscles prepared for life.
Its not always that they are moving more. Its more that they are running out of room and you can feel EVERY little movement now whereas before you couldn't feel everything as much.

I'ts normal! I am at 30 weeks, and would freak out if my baby wasnt swimming all the time. They are doing baby areobics! Now is the time when they start using reflexes, swallowing, blinking...pretty cool huh?

Experimenting with they're new biological fork-lift, er, body. Trying out all the dance moves you used to do until you realized what they really look like to others.
Practicing swimming moves before it gets too crowded to move in there.
Drawing up weird new recipes to force you to try for them.
The placenta is a biological keyboard/computer terminal/hard drive. It totally takes over your mind for nine months. Get used to it.

I am only 23 weeks pregnant and my baby moves all the time!!!!!

They've always moved but since they are getting so much bigger in a small area you just feel it more.

because they have gotten bigger in your belly and now you can feel them better they were always moving .
