As many other people have indicated, BYOB stands for "Bring Your Own Bottle". The phrase apparently originated in areas of the country where liquor licenses are not granted for "liquor by the drink", but where private clubs take the place of traditional bars.
People would bring their own bottle (usually hard liquor), put their name on it, and allow the in-house bartender to mix a drink for them using the bar's mixers (water, soda etc.), but use the patron's liquor. this allowed the club to get around restrictive liquor laws and sent a clear message to patrons about the rules of the club.
Many people have adapted the original phrase to mean "Bring Your Own Beer" or "Bring Your Own Beverage", but those are simply derivations of the orignal phrase.

Well when talking about the System of a Down song, many people have argued about that BYOB really stands for.
Many say its "Bring Your Own Beer"
But due to their music video of BYOB, and rumors..
They think its means, "Bring Your Own Bombs"
I guess you'd have to ask them.
Hope I helped :]
