I used to fish a lot, but have not in years. I think a northern that was barely a keeper was my largest. A few large crappie but they are small fish. We used to fish a pretty fished out lake.
I almost caught a three foot musky. I was casting off a dock and it came jumping out right after my lure and splashed my face.
It was kind of scarry because frankly my dad used to take the fish off my hooks/lures and he was no where to be found. I got worried that I would have to do that myself--and what an intrusion on a fishes life. I didn't want to hurt it. I don't even eat fish.
So I stopped fishing. I cast with a practice lure on the rare occassion I do it. I can't bring myself to fish anymore.
I have been thinking about fishing again however. I think my son would like it and he hasn't had many chances to try.
I do like that movie "Big Fish."

A lake-trout about 2 and a half foot long. Tasty.
Oh, and I once caught a lobster in the sea. It wasn't terribly big, but a nice catch, and unusual.

I've never caught any fish.....of course, the fact that I've never been fishing may have something to do with it.

a 38 inch redfish I do believe. We weren't able to get it on the boat; the line broke.
