He was the coolest and one of the first male hotties and a
superstar. I loved Steve McQueen and felt he died way too early.

Steve McQueen (March 24, 1930 – November 7, 1980) was a United States movie actor.
Nicknamed "The King of Cool", he was considered one of the biggest box-office draws of the 1960s and 1970s due to what many film goers consider a captivating on-screen persona. McQueen was considered a combative and the archetypal "difficult movie star" who disliked working with directors or producers.
To compensate, he would work only if paid a higher-than-average salary for his films

Very cool, loved him in Bullitt...one review said "He was so tense even his hair was clenched."
When I was a kid, I pretended I was the President of the Abbotsford Chapter of the Steve McQueen fan club...I wrote to movie houses in Vancouver, asking if they'd send me some of their Steve McQueen movie pics...and they did (there was no Abbotsford chapter of the Steve McQueen fan club lol)

The chase scene in "Bullitt" outdoes any car film of present. A studmuffin of a guy; sadly, gone way too soon.
