I say its ok to throw a can out the window because some people pick up cans for a living for money.?

If you take the can home and put it in the trash it will help those people out even more by making it easier for them to pick up cans. There are people in every town who walk around on trash night and take cans and other things they want from people's trash that is sitting out by the curb. I don't know of anyone who walks along roads looking for cans.

Well, we have laws that prohibit what you are doing because if everyone did it, we would have a bunch of not so nice looking streets.

If you walk around Denver, you will admire how clean and litter free it is (aaaaahhhhhh). Walk around Philadelphia (or at least try without getting shot) and you will be sometimes overcome by stench, soot, and garbarge on windy days.

When I am at the park, I usually pick up trash that is close to me and throw it into trashcans later.

If you only do it every once in a while, you are most likely safe from the $100-$300 ticket, but try planting trees or something to compensate

No it's not OK. People also will go through public trash bins and find your same can. It also wont get run over and possibly pop someone's tire or get a littering ticket for an average of $5000.
