God created everyone differently so some are very emotional and get sad easily while others aren't.

I was raised pentecostal and saved at age 3. I have struggled with depression since my preteen years.
Sometimes depression is brought on by a significant single event or series of events. Sometimes it's just a physical condition, liking sun-burning easily, or having diabetes. A diabetic doesn't produce enough insulin, and some depressives are just depressed because of too little or too much serotonin. Like a diabetic who must control their diet, maintain good physical condition, and pay attention to their bodies; the depressive must eat nutritiously, exercise, and pay attention to their general mood.
There is no sin in taking insulin as a diabetic and there is no sin in taking anti-depressants if you're depressed.
If your depression is caused by a tragic event or series of events, you may need therapy, and medication. Or, you just might have a "depressive brain" like a diabetic has a malfunctioning pancreas. In which case, you need to treat it with medication, nutrition and rest.
There are evil forces at work which will "get you any way they can." If you THINK that you're not close to God or you're having an issue in your life that needs examining - fine. However, don't let those evil forces convince you that it's all your fault and you'll never be right. There IS a spiritual self, a physical self, and an emotional/mental self. Sometimes, what we PERCEIVE to be a spiritual or mental/emotional problem is actually a physical problem. A physical problem may need a physical cure - to make your emotional/spiritual parts feel whole.
My Mother spent 10 years of her life feeling like she was unworthy and "bad". It turned out she had juvenile diabetes, was malnourished, and was suffering post-partum depression as well. (The diabetes had gone undiagnosed for a long time - she believes she had diabetic symptoms as early as 11 or 12.) With medication and a balanced diet, she lived a more joyous life.

I am not a christian but I know that some people stay in a depressive state and some are in between and some are generally always in a good mood. Everyone is different. You can be depressed even if things in your life are going good. Its just part of the mind. It is hereditary as well.

Depression is caused by many things. No matter how religious you are, you are not necessarily immune to depression. Some people have hormonal levels and genetic inclinations to be depressed. People have different experiences in life such as death of loved ones, family influences, and schooling situations. I think this question suggests that people that are depressed are doing something wrong. Religion may help fill some voids in certain peoples lives, but not be as important in relieving other peoples worries and problems.

I feel many people struggle with depression at some point in their lives. Whether medication needs to be the form of treatment or counseling, I do not know. I do know that I have had moments of depression and time and love is what helped me to get through it and my faith...since I am christian.

Many Christians suffer from depression. Our enemy doesn't leave Christians out of this trial. Depression isn't any different then loneliness, fatigue, or a busted down car along the expressway. We are to trust God to deliver us and sometimes it gets real tough to have the faith needed to move through depression. Why do so many depressed people take their own lives? Because the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. If he can get us to do it to ourselves, he wins. I'm not sure if you are depressed or you know someone who is but I will pray for whomever it is........God knows.

I think so yes, but even though it may seem like the worst thing ever......we are never given more than we can handle and we go through trials and tribulations for a reason, usually to make us stronger or show us something we are missing and need to know.

From a 'Christian' perspecitve, or any other perspective for that matter, you sound completely uninformed about the subject in general. I'd read more.
