apply ice to it, no longer then 15 mintues and make sure its not direct. then wrap it with an ace bandage

First run cold water over it if the burn is relatively minor. Do this for 20-30 minutes. Do not use ice. Remove your jewelry as swelling may occur later and if it does, your jewelry could get in the way and a doctor might need to cut it off.
Decide what kind of burn you have. If you have some discoloration, it is probably a first degree burn. Apply moist dressings. If you have blisters, it could be a second degree burn and you might need to see a doctor. In case of second or third degree burns, use dry dressings and see a doctor.

if you do not have running water available, put regular mustard on it. It sounds weird, but it really works. A friend of mine burned her hands on an electric oven element and her boyfriends grandmother ran to the refrigerator got out the bottle of mustard and put in on the burns. These were bad burns across the backs of her hands, near the knuckles and she ended up with no blisters and no scarring. Good luck

Do NOT use any ice!
