My girlfriend and I will be visiting Sydney for 2-3 weeks in May or June and I am looking for some suggestions. Flying anywere in Australia is out of the question, we will be walking and using public transportation.

I am sending my dad to visit his sister in Australia (Nr Brisbane) as his 60th bday prezzie. His bday is September so will give him ticket then, so I wanted to know how long (max) it would take to get his passport and visa sorted - as I cannot think of a way of getting him a passport beforehand - I wanted him to go in November. Would this be pushing it?
