I've been trying to find suitable information about living in the Philippines permanently, and wondered if anyone knew the best sites that tell you about passport requirements, accomodation and what else you need to live there without being a citizen for at least 5 years.
Anyone could help, I'd be in their debt.

Salamat.

Serious replies only -- preferably from Taiwanese people or someone otherwise familiar with Taiwanese politics. My question is not meant to be mocking; I am genuinely interested in the underlying dynamics of this phenomenon.

first - i say Asian, cause i am not sure where they are from.
second - i realize that it is obviously out of courtesy.. like when i see they are chewing..

but why do they cover their mouth when they laugh?
is it part of the culture to not see in your mouth or teeth or something?

i respect their culture to the highest degree, i am just unsure of this behavior and am a bit curious.
thanks for any & all legitimate, intelligent answers

I think he is as proud to be a Pinoy as he is an Italian.
Maybe you won't know much about his mom as she might be
camera-shy or a very private person. Most successful
people of Filipino descent I know are proud to say they
are. That I think can be expressed more when they are to
face a pre-dominantly Filipino crowd. The famous Fil-Ams
I know who have paid a visit to the Philippines and expressed
their pride to be part-Pinoy are as follows: (1) Allen
"apl.de.ap" Pineda Lindo (Filipina mother), singer and member
of The Black Eyed Peas (BEP), he has expressed his pride as
Pinoy not only during BEP's concert in Manila and the
presscons/interviews they attended but also through songs
like "Bebot" (a Tagalog slang for "pretty or hot lady"),
"The Apl Song" (a BEP version of a Filipino hit song "Anak"),
and others in the making. (2) David Bautista a.k.a. BATISTA
(Filipino father), he flaunted the tatoo on his biceps etched with a Philippine Flag.

Hi, i'm thinking about going to Thailand with my 14 month old baby and my girlfriend. I love to get a good bargin. My interests are electronics , gadgets, magic and (not so much) clothes. Also Vietnam is high on my list too. Like to see historic military stuff.
Would you take a pram over there? where is the best place to stay or shop? what would avoid? I would appreciate any comments . Thanks .Regards Gav.
