I think that there are going to be some interesting shifts in Prem power over the next few years. (eg. Liverpool overtaking Man U and Arsenal perhaps. And who knows what will happen if a bunch of billionnaire Arabs take over Villa.)
The reason I say this is because I think Chelsea's aggressive transfer policy is masking the fact that Man U and Arsenal are barely investing in their own squads.
Let's be honest, will Man U replace Ruud with a striker of the same calibre? (No.)
Will Wenger's signing of Thomas Rosicky compensate for the loss of Cole, Pires, Campbell and Bergkamp? (No - they still haven't got over the loss of Edu and Vieira.)
So, not only will they have less chance of matching Chelsea, they'll also have to be looking over their shoulders at the decent clubs that are investing in their squads (Spurs and Liverpool).
