I'm looking for a replacement to the SR Suntour FD-XR17 front derailleur.

Information about the front derailleur can be found at the following address: http://www.srsuntour-cycling.com/index.php?screen=sh.detail&tnid=67

The bike is a Schwinn 2005 Mesa, which is equipped with a 42/34/24T chain wheel, coupled with an 8-speed cassette at the rear.

Information about the bike can be found at the following address: http://www.schwinnbike.com/products/intbikes_detail.php?id=467

Would anyone be able to provide me with a choice of compatible front derailleur?

Thanks in advance.

I got a gift certificate to by favorite bike shop for christmas :) and I'm considering getting a heart rate monitor. I never really felt I needed one and to be honest I don't have a clue what sort of brand/features I want. Any suggestions and types, and in your experience if it is worth it to get one?

i did everything with thin layers after i was done drying my bike there was one spot that i missed so i sprayed it but the location of the un-sprayed spot is a bit tight so i had to go close....that ended in a droopy coat and then i had to take a newspaper and rub the spot clean....now im thinking wait for it to dry and wet sandpaper it then spray it with silver * btw silver is the color of me bike*

a few years ago one of my friends said that lifting your back tire by putting your front brake on is a trick. He said what the trick was but i forgot, but we where young and i don't know if he was lying!!

So is lifting your back tire with the brake a trick, and if so what is it called?

After 20 min I am pretty tired. I also weight train too.....I'm just wondering if the 20 min is a waste of time or worth it in the long run?

I have an inexpensive aluminum Schwinn road bike (yes I know) with 700c wheels. The ride is extremely rough (I'm coming from a full suspension mountain bike). The tail is not too bad but jars to the front actually hurt my hands.

How much would a carbon fiber fork dampen my ride. Also, would a carbon fiber handle bar help even more. I've found a fork set that will fit my bike for less than $100. A cabon fiber handle bar will run closer to $200. Plus if I'm going that far I may as well get a carbon fiber seat post as well. What would doing all this do for my ride?

This bike has a decent frame and all Shimano derailers/cassette/crank. It weighs in at just under 24 pounds soaking wet. It could be an awesome bike regardless of what some say (it's pretty good right now except for the ride).
