I know I did when I saw it on the news. The scene with the mascot (sorry, don't know the name) crashing into Coco Crisp gave me a good laugh (and I only say that because he wasn't hurt). I got another good one when the coach started yelling at an official about it.

When did that happen? Was it before the game or between innings? Also, what did the coach yell about? Did he think that the Mariners were trying to sabotage the Red Sox?

i see shifts being put on bonds, big papi and hafner

i know that a lot of times they have success hitting the ball up the middle or pull the middle and try to middle the ball on the bat...but during critical junctures of the games, why won't these guys bunt near the 3rd base line or slap the shot near the 3rd base?

this could disrupt the defense and runners on base could move up, the hitter could get on base and maybe an error might be commited

are they not skilled enough and can't handle the bat to hit the ball the other way in the infield or what?

pitchers are pitching them away so why won't these guys do it?

i mean look at hafner...his team could be running away with first place in the AL central if theywon more close games if he could come thru and play smart like that when a shift is placed on him in critical close games...he's having a bad year not hitting for power or average, why can't he do this and contribute to his team?

why can't lefties like him and others do that?

MLB and Sports enthusiasts may know the answer. The Los Angeles Dodgers played in Dodger Stadium from 1962-Current.

Really, the two main arguments are that five man rotations are going to reduce starts and therefore wins, and that starters get fewer decisions because they'll be yanked earlier.

But Glavine himself pitched in a 5 man rotation for his whole career, and was never a really huge workhorse (only topped 240 IP 3 times, which guys like Randy Johnson exceeded regularly only a few years ago. Hell, Bronson Arroyo had 240 IP last year.). And in spite of that, Glavine still won 300 games.

The increased use of bullpens hasn't really had an effect on the number of decisions by starters- according to the NY Daily News last week, starters get roughly the same percentage of decisions as they did 25 years ago.

Plus bullpen use may actually preserve leads- these days you usually don't see a starter go an inning too long and unravel like you might have in years past.

CC Sabathia recently said he wants to get 300 wins. He turned 27 weeks ago and has 95 career wins. What do you think his chances are?

THe question is mainly centered on Middle infielders in the Baseball Hall of Fame, so that would mean that they are, for a start, retired, and have played at least five years in the majors.

What I'm looking for is not offensive production, but defensive.

The firld is pretty wide, but I can tell you who has my vote on this one . . . Ryne Sandberg, played for the Chicago cubs from 1981-1997, and played a stretch of 212 straight games without making an error of any kind, that includes fielding, and throwing . . . during that stretsh, Sandberg's glove got the nickname among some of my friends as "The place base hits go to die."

Does anyone agree with me on this one?

Example: If he comes in to play in the 7th inning, with his team at 5 runs, and the other team at, say 8 runs, and then he wins the game, does he get the save? Does the starting pitcher still get the win? Please explain.

This will be dark times for tigers fans if they lose the lead in the wild card and division for good. I mean if there is one team that does not deserve to lose it is the tigers because they went from setting the record for most losses in a single season (119) to becoming AL champs. All you yankees fans dont deserve to whine if you dont make the playoffs I mean ur like the Detroit Red Wings in baseball form. (the red wings are an NHL team who has made the playoffs for 14 consecutive years and winning 3 championships along the way). All I'm trying to say is that if there is one team that desrves to win its the Tigers. (No disrespect to cubs fans). but 119 losses is not something to be proud of.
