Here is what the Bible say about the death penalty:

Chaps 19-20 of Leviticus, and Chap 21,22 of Deuteronomy clearly states that the Death penalty has 2 objectives (1) To put fear in the hearts of evil doers, and to ELIMINATE them.

According to Jesus, God's laws should last ( Mat 5:17,18). But, that the agrieved party may forgive the criminal.

Romans 13:4, governments are given the authority--by God himself--to impose the "sword" or death penalty.

But, what did politicians--at the instigation of Christendom--do?

They misinterpreted the Bible--stessing only on the aspect of love and forgiveness--and abolished the death penalty. They reasoned that coz death penalty does not deter criminals, it is useless and even cruel. They conviniently forgot the other purpose--elimination of the wicked.

And, what have we got? Serial killers, senseless murders,. etc.

I'm not trying to convert anyone, I find believe in God a struggle. I just ask because I like logic a lot. I see people asking atheists if they have faith and they say NO.

So what happens when you die? If you say nothing, I ask you what proof?

21 All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Not one was silver, for this was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon. 22 For the king had merchant ships[a] at sea with the fleet of Hiram. Once every three years the merchant ships came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and monkeys.[b] 23 So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

Faith has various uses; its central meaning is similar to "belief", "trust" or "confidence."

Okay, by defintion, Atheists have faith there is no GOD, not proof. They have trust there is no GOD, not proof. They are confident there is no God, not proof.

So, how is their arguments any more justified or truthful than a Christian who has faith, trust and confidence there is a God? Neither side has proof, but both have faith, so why do we all get our panties in a bunch?

Atheists have faith of a diffrent kind. Proof negates faith, noone has anything but personal poof. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, cant we all act like adults instead of squabbling, hateful, name calling children?

"Religion is for those who are afraid of hell. Spirituality is for those who have been there." I credit discovering this quote via another member or YahooAnswers. I resonated with this quote on another level which helped me out of my fundamental Christianity. I will not go into the details but once in my Christianity I felt damned to hell. For an instant I truly knew what it theorectically would feel like to be in hell. It was shortly after that moment I had compassion for those who were the theoretical damned. It was so horrible I knew a good God would not send even one soul into an eternal hell, no matter what they did. It was not too long after that moment that I opened myself to other possibilities of returning to God. I rediscovered the concept of reincarnation & found it to be conceptually good. If I & others could have thought of this reasonable & compassionate way to return to God how much more could a wise and loving God have constructed this Highway back to his/her heart?

Do you agree?

To all of the athiest, agnostics, and satanist. I respect your belief system, but when you come across a christian asking a question about the bible or their faith, please do not say that we are living a lie. We do not come down on your questions and proclaim your life as a lie, so please respect us as we respect you. I am sick and tired of asking questions, and having a majority of the answers tell me to forget the bible because my God deos not exist. I know he does, and if you dont, i am sorry, but only you can change that. So please, when a question is marked "Christians only" please dont try to answer it with a reason why we should not believe. Thank you.

God bless all of you.
