Etiquette - November 2006

My co-worker from time to time always borrow a dollar here or two dollars there until it adds up, but then, it is always been forgotten by the time it is being ask to pay. I just don't want to be sarchastic and hurt her feelings. What should I do to her?

Do you tip all of them the same?
Or do you tip them like waitresses & they get a certain % of the bill?
And should it be different if there is a delivery charge? Cuz that doesnt all go to the driver, if any at all does.

table especially in a restaurant? I think it is more polite to go to the restroom...that way you can look in the mirror to check if anything is hanging and then you can wash your hands. Please pass it on.

I'm from Germany and there guys usually only pay, if they want something from the girl.
Now that I'm here, I get invited all the time and I'm wondering if all the guys "expect" something.
I don't want to be rude and deny any invitation so I try also to buy the drinks every now and then but somehow the boys are always "ahead" of me.

Is it just polite in England? Or do they only invite girls because they want something?

Is it my imagination or are people with buggies often arrogant and selfish?
A few days ago I was going to university, and I have to get the bus cause it's the only way into town from my halls. I had taken my guitar with me for a practice session. There were no more seats left so I stood near the front near the little fold-up seats. When we came to a stop a few minutes later the woman sitting on the seat behind me pulled her buggy out, hitting me in the ankle then pushing me out of her way without even saying excuse me. My guitar was pushed into the wall jerking all the tuning keys out of place and scratching it.
Why is it a mother/father with a buggy seems to think that people should just bow down to them and get out of their way, and showing little respect for anyone else's wishes. The above incident is just one of several incidents with these people. I'm so fed up!
What do you think? Has anyone else had the same problem?

My dad is mildly allergic to fragrance-his eyes water and his throat constricts a bit. I recieve many gifts of lotions, soaps, etc that include fragrance. I try to tell people about his condition, but the gifts keep coming. I enjoy wearing scents, but I cannot or it would affect his wellbeing. How to get people to stop wasting their hard earned money on something i cannot enjoy?

that is abuse"...or "please do not do that to me"...BUT the person continues...what is best to do..."get away from that person and try not to have anything to do with them...since they are that way"....and do not look at them anymore since you would have to be around them at school...( i feel he is the bully type)...what is best to do...i understand why some students shoot up the school...because of "constant teasing from others"...it is hurtful...there is a lesson to be learned from this...don't tease...i do not agree with what the shooter does, but i do understand!!!

I am wondering... what are the ettiquettes of being a lady... I love it when you are at a restaurant and a lady comes in and all the gentlemen stand up. please. if you know of any "lady ettiquettes" like for example: ladies should not say bad words... etc etc etc. it would be really helpfull. Let's say you're at a restaurant and the bill comes to $21.60 how are you supposed to caculate the additional 15%? Yeah, i was never that good in math okay! OR, can you forget about the caulations and just leave $2 or something? Help!

They let the older kids in first. My friend, who is five months younger than me got in. You only have to be passing a certain amount of classed to get in. I'm passing all my classes. I'm always in there trying to sighn up and asking questions, or at least I feel like I am. It seems everyone knows things that I don't. I feel confused and unsure all the time but I'm just a freshman. I once asked her where the computer lab was and her dirrections led me to the special kids' computer lab (it's a big school, so they have their own lab) where I was imediately confronted by the teacher and given dirrections to the normal computer labs. I guess I'm a bit odd but I usualy don't worry about people thinking I'm special. My real concern is getting into Drivers Ed. How do I show her that I'm not special and I'm perfectly fit to drive a car so she will submitt my forms?

My whole house reeks of garlic and onions and spices. Yeah....i know its a nice smell but not at 9.00 in the morning!
Our clothes smell of it, the nice clean washing smells of it.
Ive tried all kinds of airfreshners, plug ins, spray.... but nothing works. I cant report them or say anything cuz their family will probably burn my house down.

Any suggestions?
And it is not possible for us to move...anyway, why should we....
