i recently posted the question "do you give spare change to bums who ask for it?" the answer i got were about what i expected. about 50% yes ("who am i to judge them?" and "do unto others") and about 50% no ("no, you cant help them" and "no, they're just gonna spend it on booze and drugs"). many people said "no, they can get a job and earn it," and one even said "no, they have it easier than me, they dont have a mortgage, they should get a damn job, etc."

here's my question: how do you think a bum should go about GETTING a job? it's not exactly like you can wake up in the gutter, comb the leaves out of your hair, and then go be a bank teller or something. when you have no residence or phone number, nobody wants to hire you. when you can't afford new clothes, and you can't take a shower, how do you get hired?

When I go out shopping out like Nordstroms, I dress casually let's say jogging wear or something comfortable. The salespeople there will ignore you or turn away, because they think you can't afford it.

Well, the very next day I went to Nord., and wore a stylish suit outfit, and everyone practically bowed down, and wanted to help me.

I told them you didn't help me when I looked down and out. Why should I patronize you now?

some kids in school are calling me fat and its time to get back at them. a lot of people on here are like, "why don't you be the better man and walk away?" : because im not a *ussy, also people are like "just ignore them" : it dont work when you're in a class room, then you got the "tell them to shut up" ones : heres an idea for people who say that...dont answer this.

they're saying stuff like oink oink and you were the best pig the petting zoo ever had. so give me some comebacks or something, because im halfway from going up to these *ags and punchin their *uckin lights out.

This morning I turned on my radio while having breakfast in the kitchen. My wife (in the bathroom) told me to turn it off because our daughter was watching TV in the living room. The volume of the radio was about same as TV, which was about 20 feet away from the kitchen table. Daughter was not bothered at all. Would you turn if off or leave it on?

for the past 3 days & nights (until12:20 AM) my downstairs
neighbor has been playing their music SO loud that I can hear & feel the bass through the walls !
I can't blast mine back even though I'd like to, due to the other neighbors , I can't stand it !
I'd go & talk to them about it, but I'm afraid this will just make them rebel & they will do it even more.
Should I call the police about it or do you have a better
solution ?
PLEAE HELP ! & THANKS a bunch !

it happens to all of us from time to time. you walk out of the grocery store, arms full of bags, and there's a homeless guy sitting there, and he looks up at your armfuls of grub, and asks, "excuse me, got any spare change?"

do you give money to these people? food? dirty looks? what's YOUR natural reaction?

her lunch is from 11:30 to 12:30 she ran an errand on her lunch break and came back at 12:10 . . . she seems to think cause she had to be back at her desk in 20 min everyone including the two people who were still waiting to use the microwave should have let her heat her food 1st . . yes I was rude when she took out my food to cook hers but shouldn't she wait her turn like everyone or should I have let her go ahead and cook her food even though I had been waiting for my turn since my lunch break started ?

I have a co-worker whom burps on a regular basis. I know of no health concerns that he has. He isn't burping like "men being men" or belching to be funny, but burping 6 times a day. He doesn't even acknowledge he does it when your standing with him. He does it in meetings unashamed. He never says excuse me, or anything of the sort. What is a guy to do about it? Its really weird. His cube is right next to mine and it just seems rude.

The other day I was sweeping up my neighbor's curb, which had so much trash and leaves that were turning into muck and foul smelling. Reason being my neighbor is disabled.

My neighbor across the street comes out and starts sneering at me, and looking at me strangely with her arms akimbo, like I was doing something bad, and she continued looking.

Why are some people so mean and uncaring?

I hear a lot about "stoners" and "tweekers", but I don't know what a "tweeker" is. I've read the Bible and the Koran, so I have a good grasp on who the "stoners", but amd surprised that there are still so many of them around.

But as for "tweekers", I'm at a loss. When I was in basic training for the Army we had a couple of guys in the shower room that were called "tweekers" and you really had to be BOL (be on the lookout). They were not a problem for long though, they were sent off to OCS quickly, nobody else wanted to go. So are these guys still pulling their pranks but in larger numbers?

Ok, here's the deal. My younger sister got suspended from school today because the school started an African American Heritage study all this week. In her Social Studies class they were gonna go through anything that had to do with African Americans. My sister refused to do any work related to it or sit there and listen. I know my family is not racist, I'm not sure where she picks stuff like that up, but the she never made a rude comment, she just said and I quote "I don't want to learn about African American culture, why should it be mandatory for me to learn it". After that she refused to listen or do the work, and she got sent to the Principals office where she then got suspended. What is going on? Can they suspend her for that? Is it mandatory for everyone to learn and appreciate(forced or not) African American Culture/Heritage? I think they did my sister wrong.

I patiently waited for my turn to heat my food in the microwave . . I put my food in set the thing for 3 min and go sit down and chit chat with my coworkers . . another worker comes removes my food from the microwave puts hers in . . I walk over take her food out and put mine back in and tell her in my mean mommy voice (the one I use when I've caught my kids redhanded) don't touch my food . . she grabbed her food and left . . now back at my desk to work I have several emails from her wanting to meet after work to discuss our problem ??? What the F***?? I thought our problem was solved when I put my food back in the microwave ?

I only suggested that it would be a good idea to learn to spell before looking for serious work. Am I awful, I just told the truth for their own sake. Oh, well, thank goodness I am not so touchy. Actually, maybe someone so touchy couldn't hold a job down these days, as it can be pretty back stabbing.

We keep finding money on the floor at stores. I look around to see if anyone is searching for their money, and if there isn't I pick the money up and leave quickly. Is this dishonest?
On one hand this could be considered dishonest but on the other hand we don't keep track of serial numbers on our bills so could have fallen from my own pocket for all we know. In other words, how can one prove that a bill belongs to a certain person.
Any opinions?
