I was going through my wife's porn collection and noticed that she had cut off all the men's heads out of the magazine. She has replaced them with heads that I recognise. It is the next-door-neighbour's head. His name is Steve, happens to be single and works for the fire-brigade.

So I decided to confront her about this. She told me that the magazine doesn't belong to her and that she borrowed it off my mother.

I said that my mother hates firemen ever since they failed to save her hamster from a fire. My wife then said just one word - 'sorry', then ran out the house. I have not seen her since. I don't know what's wrong! Have I done something? I'm worried for her as I don't know where the hell she has gone. I also can't get any sleep because of the noisy neighbour playing loud music and banging etc... What should I do? And where is my wife? Should I call the police? Should I call my mam?

We always take turns driving so we don't have an accident or kill anyone. Long story short we have a friend who just will not participate in the car pool program. Even if he is sober!

I was the same bar a couple of weeks on Saturdays. I was sitting at the bar (as I came alone and didn't know any one there). One of the bartenders was trying to flirt with me both times. She had memorized my drink the second time and didn't charge for the first round. Was high-fiving me when her fav. songs were being played. Do bartenders generally do this just to get extra tips or was she hitting on me? I wanted to ask her out, but was a little hesitant because this is totally unchartered waters for me.

By the way, I did tip her, but only the normal amount I always do

I hate it when you send someone an email (at work) and they get all offended by the way you worded something. I was just verbally attacked by someone who got offended by an email with a request in it, she took it as my telling her how to do her job when that is completely not the case. Now she is giving me an attitude, will not talk to me, and is not forwarding my calls when they come in (she is the receptionist). I tried sending her an email explaining that she took what I said the wrong way and I that I'm sorry she took it that way, etc., but she deleted it without reading it.
Do I leave it alone, or do I go and try to talk to her again? Any advice?

My boyfriend and I often go to restaurants in NYC - and he loves quail. But it's embarassing when he has to eat it with his hands in a very classy restaurant!

Is it just me, or is there a more proper way to eat the tiny little bird?

I am the type of person who takes pride in purchasing with my own money things for me. However, I have a friend who can get any guy to buy her what ever she wants. She doesn't feel guilty at all for having guys spend money on her and never seeing them again. How do people use others like that?

When you have a customer waiting to speak to someone else and they stand at your desk and watch what you are doing on the computer................. Do you say something to them? Do you stop working? Do you turn off your computer screen or click the "show desktop" button? Is it not one of the most annoying things in the world? I don't mean that I'm playing around on Answers while they are staring at the screen, I am working in the checkbook, paying bills, receipting money, or dealing with financial reports.

Please
Thank you
Pardon (excuse) me
(I'm) sorry
You're welcome

I've become guilty of not being polite when it really isn't any more effort. When I hear these phrases, it does tend to make me feel just a bit better. Do you have any other phrases which should be used more often when interacting with friends/strangers?
