A friend of mine, a musician, is playing in Colorado. I'm coming all the way from London to see his show. I also plan to ski there but it's just to see him. I wanted to tell him in a sarcastic funny short way that I'll be there so that he knows and doesn't freak out when he sees me... This is just going to be a public short message, I won't be able to speak to him until I see him. I was thinking something like:

"Not that you care, but just so you won't freak out if you see me, I'll be coming to Colorado just to ski. NOT TO SEE YOU, just to ski because it doesn't snow here in Europe."
or...
"Can you believe I planned my ski holiday in the same place and time that you're playing? So, not that you care but just so you know, if the snow is not too powdery, I might just happen to see your show. ;) (Not that you care, but just so you know and won't freak out or anything if you see me)"

i'm the genious that asked why bill gates couldn't give everyone on the planet $ 1 billion. and boy howdy was i ever attacked !!!! i don't expect ANYBODY to give me anything. it was just a "WHAT IF QUESTION" people. there isn't any reason for all of the hateful things some of you said to me. if all you want to do is insult and hurt peoples feelings.....why don't you think twice before doing so. ya'll don't know me and if ya did.....you would like me. i'm a very nice person..."MOST OF THE TIME". but when i get attacked , like i did here.....I WILL DEFEND MYSELF !! i'm not perfect and neither are the hateful people that jumped all over me for not being as smart as they think they are. as far as Bill Gates goes....it's wonderful that he is giving his money to worthy causes. people it was a silly harmless " WHAT IF " question. so , for the smart big mouths out there........think before you start pecking out an insult to people. i'm only human. and guess what? you mean people are too.

To me, and I do mingle in some er, uh, higher circles when need be, a fart is just that, and everyone but the guilty party has the right, the privilidge to giggle, to laugh, or if the company is of the closest friends, then you all, except the farter, may fall to the floor in mock anguish and in mock strangulation; fully letting the farter know that you recognize his wind, his fake-h(f)arted apology.
It can be now revealed, by an extensive British University Study, that the natural need to fart, often with sounds which indicate the muscular nature of the buttocks of the farter in question, be they strong, muscularly-pushed farts, or the far more usual, weakened, seemingly feckless, uncontrollably long, staccato barrages, similar to a clean embrasured French horn, or a very tight tympani drum. And without fail, it is always the evening's host who smiles the knowing smile of rectal relief, and at the same time, raises his glass of wine, in a toast...
Well, what do you do? Fart too?

Please advise on this scenerio that has twice happened around my male company president. At the company picnic, I was seated at a picnic table when he approached and introduced his wife to my husband and I. My husband stood to shake hands, I did not. I felt it was difficult while seated at a picnic table to stand. My husband thought I should have stood to shake his hand. The second time I was seated at my desk when approached from behind by the president, my sales manager, (female) and a new sales rep (male) touring our facility. Again, I shook hands while seated...turned in my chair and greeted them. Was I wrong not to stand in both of these incidents? I am certainly not trying to be rude or lazy, I just need to know what I SHOULD be doing!

Last night my neighbours were 'nice and loud' whilst I tried to sleep.

So, 6:30am this morn, I treated them to a live stream of Radio 6's Rock Show with Bruce Dickinson....

It is way too late Michael Richards, your career has gone. I am not Black, and I can't imagine how those people really felt, but I have been verbally harassed, humiliated, spit and chewed out and it hurts!

I just can't believe that he would say such things! He said he is not racist and is not sure why these words came out. I can tell you, if these thoughts have never entered ones mind, if you have fought racism within yourself you would never have thought of such words, not only that you would have never said them!

I know that sometimes there are Black comedians that say racist things, but first someone so big and influential to be so irresponsible with his words is more effective than someone who is not so big. Second, it is so different, we should understand Blacks have every right to hate, many systems, and society is against them in everyway. Although there are laws put in place to "protect" their group, it still is not sufficient. Just recently, 42 y ago, they were still segre

Is it not well known that it is not proper to begin eating before all the others at your table have been served? I have observed this when out socializing with a group of others or, as it happened once or twice, on a date. And...to take it a step further that it is impolite to have your plate taken away before your date has completed his / her own meal. There is more to social table manners, but these two noted here as basic knowledge...or do most really not know?
