Is it possible for a person to still be spiritual and not believe in God? I am not trying to debate beliefs or non beliefs and I have no malice intended with this question. I am simply someone who is struggling with religion as a whole and my beliefs about the bible have been shaky at best. I do however believe in a higher power, not just as a romantic notion but I simply think it would be arrogant and unrealistic not to. Do any of you feel the same way and if so, how would you descibe this if not spiritual? I would appreciate any insight you have about this.

You answered my earlier question "Science, Religion or both?" and asked for proof of immortality. You might try a cool read called "The Physics of immortality" By, Frank Tipler. Surely, this physist is being criticized within the Scientific community.. But then again,
the scientific community, at one point, believed that the world was flat. If you're truly open minded, read it. If not, I tried to expand horizons.

I have been interviewed for a job and the boss seemed very pleased with me. However, the HR Manager told me that they were still interviewing the next week (meaning, last week). So it has been two weeks after my interview, you think I should go and call them to follow up their decision? I have sent an email but keep getting a "bounced reply".

"Whoever sacrifices to any god other than the LORD must be destroyed. (Exodus 22:20)

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

This is NOT directed at homeschooling in GENERAL. You have every right to provide a better education for your kids if the school is not doing it up to standard.

This question is about those who HAVE good schools in their area but still homeschool because they are frightened their kids will be exposed to scientific teachings and social situations that may challenge their religious beliefs.

Throughout human history, we do NOT respond well to this kind of thing. Curiosity, doubt and a willingness to learn are natural to all of us. One sided indoctrination and strict controls over personal freedom and information only works for so long. They create a BURNING desire to break free.

How will you answer when they ask, “Why did you need to keep me ignorant in order to keep me obedient?”

Also, will the COUNTRY's scientific professions suffer?

Will we have to start sourcing scientists with a sound foundation in evolutionary science from Asia and Europe?

I'm listening to talk radio and they are saying that a man with a deep voice gets more ladies, is prone to have more kids and is overall more popular.

What do you think?

When I was a freshmen we had a religious retreat over night at our school. During the end of the day we had to meditate and it was then that I had a vision of Jesus. He walked with me up this hill, everything was like in his time, and he sat on this rock. He looked at me with open arms and told me to embrace him. He loved me and wanted me to be a part of him. He said other things that I really do not remember. I am now a devoted Christian and couldn't see my life without him.

How come when I tell this to people they look at me funny? What is so hard with people excepting something that was true and genuine?

I have a friend who has a child, but her and her son have two different last names.

Let's say that the mother's last name is Jones and the son's last name is Smith.

She just purchased a new home, and is wondering how to personalize items with a "family" last name.

She doesn't think the "Jones' Family" is appropriate, because that leaves out her son. She is wondering if "Jones-Smith Family" would be more appropriate.
