Are you more interested in the historical Jesus, as revealed by modern historical research or are you more interested in the traditional Jesus of faith, as Christianity has traditionally described Jesus? Please explain why and any basis for your opinions. Thanks for any thoughtful answers that contain explanations, regardless of your opinion.

Just read a few postings from several users stating jesus started the catholic church. Um..... I'm actually dumbfounded by this one.

If you look at statistics marijuana causes no deaths, people still have self control over themselves.

unlike alchohol were numbers of people have died from mind alteration.

I think its because the government can't make money from it because everyone would just grow their own weed.

I am a bi female in my mid 20's taking night classes at a local college. I have noticed this other female in my class. She is very attractive but is married ( I saw a wedding ring on her finger) but for some reason I get a "vibe" from her. Not even sure why. She hasn't really done anything obvious but she has winked a couple of times just in the middle of regular conversation at me and she has come up behind me before and ran her fingers through my hair. I thought this a little weird. Do straight women play with other women's hair like that? I have never had anyone do that to my hair before unless I got a new "do" they were looking at (this wasn't the case). Any opinions?

I have been thinking alot about the idea of God being imperfect and what the implications would be. So many say God is perfect and makes no mistakes. Others say that is all God does is make mistakes. I need to believe that God is close and understands me and the mistakes I have made. I also believe God is everything therefore he must be imperfection as well as perfection. If we thought of God as imperfect would we have a better chance at understanding and forgiving ourselves and others? Would be so ready to shame for the mistakes that are made if God showed us by example that we can make a mistake and move on? What do you think about all of this? I would appreciate answers from your heart and mind and refrain from giving bible verse. Thank you.

My wife and I would love to sponsor a third world child and send money to help support them. The only problem is that we do not trust a lot of the organisations not to take a slice of the money in their "administration" fees. Does anyone sponsor a child and which is the best, most honest charity organisation to give to where we know the money we are giving is going straight to where it is needed.

Wow, I've seen some good questions posed lately, but instead of talking like intelligent adults, people just start throwing out racial slurs, insulting whatever race isn't their own, etc.? Why is it so difficult to just talk rationally? Seriously, I don't get it?

In Pinyin theory, the consanont "J" should represent the "dy" sound, but when I listen to CDs it sound so me like they are just pronouncing the consanant "J" as "J" as in English ("Just", "Jump" for example).

I know Mandarin speakers use Hanzi instead of characters, so I use Zhongwen Zi below as examples:

When you pronounce (就 = Jiu4) do you say the "dy" sound or the English "J" used in "Jump", "Just"

How does the pronounciation of (Ji1 = 乩) compare to (汁 = Zhi1)....Do you say the "乩" with a "dy" sound or an English "J" sound.

I think the best thing for me to do is to make a Mandarin friend, and hear him/her speak, but I have no Mandarin people in my surroundings or in my neighberhood ect. thus I ask this question on Y/A

Thank you for sharing your culture and your knowlege with me.
I appreciate your kindness.

I've heard, recently, that a judge was considering sentencing Vick,to one year in jail, for every dog that was killed, for lack of performance,or poor performance in those dog fights.Apparently, there were at least 40 dog deaths, admitted to ,by Vick.
So,...
Shouldn't those years of incarceration be equated as dog years?...Or,...in other words,240 years?

I believe it. I just feel really paranoid every time I bring my car in. EVERY time they "find something" that needs to be fixed. What a ripoff. Is it just the places where I live, or is this universal???

Not one person has been able to wipe out Christianity, Judiasm or Islam and many have tried.... When Jesus was crucified the Pharisees thought *Well that's over people will forget....hmm well we all know the rest of the story...JESUS CHRIST is the most loved and the most hated of any person who has ever graced this planet.

Trends and Cults go by the wayside constantly what is PC today will be out tomorrow, people will be born and people will die but one TRUTH will prevail alwayus have and always will GOD exsists and his son has paid the prce for the sins of the world..

Atheists will tire, grow weary and give up the fight because the flesh is weak but the spirit is strong in christ and people who love the Lord will NEVER shut up will NEVER give up the fight that JESUS is LORD
So will you get used to it? because TRUTH is here to stay so you might think these are rants because the truth is not in you

Don't you know people of faith will do anything for the Lord?

In my understanding - yes, these people are in danger. But what country would qualify this issue as “refugee” status worthy? we are not equal in our own country...

BTW, I am sick and tired of hearing about this guy. I will cash out my lifetime savings and drop 100,000 rainbow flags on Iran, damn it!

I was in my linguistic anthropology class and we were discussing the discriptive properties of languages (english was what we had positive knowledge about and during that this question had popped up) anyway, my professer would like to know if there is any language, currently known by the way, that doesn't have prepositional phrases (I myself would primarily like to know about japanese though). Any help on the "topic" of this question (mainly about japanese, but the other question in the "details" here would also be appreciated) would be nice.

Thank you so much
