Realizing full well that it is a natural law and process you can no more invoke or preclude. Realizing also that if you were able to invoke it, your role or the role of the people involved would come into play in a way you might not be able to control?
For instance, you might not be able to protect a beloved friend if their role in a certain situation were much more negative than you believed. Or if trouble (karmic payback) were to befall someone who deserved it, then might others in their family suffer? So, unless someone is bothering you a lot, isn't it better to ignore them (like brushing off a fly), rather than allowing yourself to get all worked up - creating a much bigger stress for yourself? Is it possible you didn't really unserstand the situation to begin with?
I am often thinking about this with respect to my husband's ex-wife, who caused a lot of damage to many of us.

Europe is voting on banning any scientific evidence that supports creationism from the public schools. This reminds me of Hitler buring books the Nazi Party didn't agree with.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070925/sc_nm/europe_creationism_dc

Shouldn’t the schools let the evidence speak and not censor things simply because it could have religious implications? Why the need censor this evidence? What ever happened to the free flow of information?

I have no desire to do that to your beliefs or non beliefs.
Some of you call us foolish and ignorant but it is
apparent you find us believers so fascinating and
irresistable because you keep looking at the Bible.
Have a good one!

Well I know that chances of the world ending are pretty low, but the mythology and predictions surrounding this date are extremely high. I wanted to know what you though about this.

Here's mine: Just because I used all the soccerballs from the playing field by my apartment to construct a giant organic molecule using the PVC pipe from the goal posts as the bonds, and displayed it in the middle of the soccer field as artwork..doesn't make me a nerd!

(it just makes me highly creative)

What convinced you? When you sat down and examined the scriptures and thought through the tenets of Christianity, what made you say "Yes, this makes sense. This is a belief system I can follow"? If you had to back up your faith, what would you list as your "proofs."

Feel free to adapt this question to other faiths.

I'm just curious. Did something happen when you were younger that made you not turn away from God? Is it the lack of hypocrisy you see in believers? I just want to know what happened.

are teenagers[like 14 years old] allowed to choose their own religion?
Like, my parents are Catholic, and they want me to make my conformation. But I dont want to be Catholic, and I dont want to lie to an entire church.

Are there any laws saying that I can choose my own religion, even if my parents are agianst it?

Everybody seems to think that it's good to donate organs. They even go on about "the gift of life". But what about the flip side of it all?

Here's a scenario for you:

One bloke gets killed and his heart is whipped out and whipped in to the chest of a train driver. Some time later said heart packs up while the fella is driving the train - it crashes and loads of passengers are killed.

Now, if the train driver had died at his allotted time instead of staying on with his replacement heart he would never have been driving the train. And all those people would have gone home to their loved ones in one piece instead of in body bags.

So should we be playing around with life and death as we do, or should we think again and accept that since death is a natural part of living we should leave well enough alone?

With all of the people that have killed their kids, grandkids, step kids, wives, husbands, etc. over the last few years that claim that either god told them to do it, the devil made them do it, the children were possessed, etc., shouldn't more and more people of faith speak out and teach against such actions? Shouldn't there be services dedicated to letting people know that such ideas are more likely signs of mental sickness, and are not good excuses to commit murder?

Here are a few examples of what I'm speaking of, for those who demand proof that christians do these types of things:

http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/05/12/slain.children/
http://www.courttv.com/trials/laney/040104_ctv.html
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6561617/
http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_59715.asp
http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,1586978,00.html

There are plenty more examples, but what I want to know is: What is the clergy's responsibility in preventing these things from happening?
