I’ve noticed atheists will always blurt out “there is no scientific evidence for creation.” However, there are hundreds if not thousands of scientific publications generated by real scientists with real degrees in science including many with doctorate degrees in science.

What is the basis to claim "there is no evidence" other than stubborn ignorance?

Christ says in the book of Matthew that "we must not store up on earth, but store up ourselves treasures in heaven". How do we do that?

Is Byzantine (or eastern) Catholic the same as Orthodox? Is there a difference there between Greek Orthodox? Or is it all just country names based on where you live?

Baptists, or other religions? Brigham Young had about 40 wives, but Catholic priests can't even have one wife. What's up with this?

It seems that people on here who want to put down religion have no clue as to what it is about. they have never researched anything for themselves out of their own "fear, ignorance, and hypocracy".

In my other question: http://answers.yahoo.com/dir/index;_ylt=AjA.tGS_6WSE9Gznf3cEDr7b7BR.;_ylv=3?sid=396545163

a lot of people brought up the opinion that there is a big difference between killing a fetus and a serial killer. (We won't go into how the death penalty has been known to claim innocent victims).

But no one said there was a big difference between a fetus and an animal killed for food. Which is interesting, because there is a big difference. If the fetus is less than 5 1/2 months old, it doesn't feel pain or pleasure- it doesn't have a complicated enough nerve system at that stage. But the animals killed for food certainly feel pain- a lot of it in this country especially.

So why would an early stage fetus have more right to life than an adult cow, or pig? Is it because people believe fetus' have "souls".

I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts.

This summer I got the word "Aequitas" tattooed down my left leg. I'd now like to complement that with Latin translations of the words above, each as an individual statement.

Someone posted a question saying unicorns were mentioned in the bible.True, but the hebrew word ראם (re’em) has been translated to many languages all of which mean "one horn" but the word re'em is not known to have such a meaning. Many jewish translations simply left it untranslated because they didn't know what animal was being referred to.

However, archaeologist have excavated mesopotamian reliefs
which show King Assurnasirpal hunting oxen with one horn. The associated texts show that this animal was called rimu (ox). It is thus highly likely that this was the re’em of the Bible, a wild ox.

And there is your unicorn of the bible, a wild ox.

Matt 5:33-37

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

It makes sense. Taking oaths is prideful and we are to be humble. Since this is the case, shouldn't Christians eschew the Pledge of Allegiance? It is, after all, an oath.

I retired at 50, so that I could move closer to my daughter with all her medical problems. Now, for 27 years, I owned an Interior decorating business which was very successful. But, when I chose to move closer to my daughter, that put 100 miles between my clients and me...so, I retired!

Now, I have been given an opportunity to sell the "reborn" dolls that my partner and I make through a very exclusive shop in Dallas! The woman saw a doll I did which was heading for England and she fell in love with her. She got to see the baby that I made the doll to look like as well and it blew her away and has caused her to want to carry our dolls EXCLUSIVELY!

I am so torn about this as I think we could keep the store with inventory but, when Cindy needs me, the dolls would be put on the back burner!

Please, let me know what you think as this is a very important decision I will need to make very soon! Thank you for any pros-cons, on this! Gail
