She has an attitude that I can't even describe and is rude to everyone. I love my gf but don't know how much longer I can stay here. My gf thinks nothing is wrong with her daughter. This girl has been suspended from school for calling a teacher a ***** and her Mom didn't do anything. Do I stay or go? I'm really thinking of going.

I was reading an article about a man in Ohio who got caught for masturbating in a public library. The situation was even made worse due to the fact that the computers are located close to the children's section. Should this guy have gotten a stiffer (no pun intented) sentence?

islam has the rammadan, they cannot eat pork... even though these "sacrifices" may be seen as absurd for people who dont have the same believes they have, at least they do a sacrifice for their religion. However, christian religion doesnt recquire any sacrifice, all of it is general and things that dont really compromise anyone because "love thy neigbour", well that is something i can even say i do,since what does it mean? that you are not gonna go to his place and steal his television set? that you are not gonna hit him? that you are gonna buy him/her roses everyday?
"accept god in your heart and love him" again what is it? how do you prove your love? praying? singing hallelujah? saying god is my light in yahoo answers every evening?
"pray"...it may take just 5 minutes of your time, while you are watching tv, you think:" god, help me pay this month´s mortgage! with love, amen"...
So why is that christians dont make any sacrifice (even if it may seem absurd)??

I work in a professional office with men and women. There is a bit of socializing that takes place outside of the workplace. Recently, one of co-workers was honored with a baby shower. Every single co-worker with the exception of myself was invited. While I don't particularly like the person the shower was for (nor does she like me) and would not have attended if invited, I do feel as if an invite was in order. I think its rude to come to the office and talk about it in front of me. Thoughts? Whats the appropriate etiquette?

If you missed the significance of this, "Vicar of Christ" literally means "Anti-Christ".

I see many people say the bible is what Christ appointed to teach and not the church. My question is this if Christ appointed the bible to teach the true religion how come there was only the Torah/Old testament and not the Gospels.

Is the Bible the "pillar of truth" in the Christian religion? No. According to the Bible Itself, the Church is the "pillar of truth" (1 Timothy 3:15), not the Bible. Some "Bible" Christians insist that a "pillar" (the Church) was created to "hold up" another structure (the Bible). They claim the Bible is the structure being held up according to this passage. Well, if that is the case, how did the early Church "hold up" the Bible for the first three to four hundred years when the Bible Itself didn't even exist? Also, even if the Church is only a "pillar" holding up the Bible, doesn't that mean that the Church

Sure the word says when "2 or more pray"..but what about praying yourself and believing God hears it as well as He does 2 or more? Where is our authority?!! To me,constantly asking prayer requests shows lack of faith.

Could u please write your own myth or give me some ideas to make my own myth. Remember who ever makes the best myth wins 10 points for best answer.

Your myth can explain one of three things:

1.) Explain a natural phenomenon, like the story of Echo or the flower myths.

2.) Serve as a moral lesson like the story of Baucis and Philemon.

3.) Use an emotional theme such as love, jealousy, or anger to tell an adventure story like Pyramus and Thisbe.

Make your myth interesting and creative. You can make up your own characters and invent new places. Use your imagination!!

That's what the Barna Group, a Christian polling organization, says.

http://www.barna.org/FlexPage.aspx?Page=BarnaUpdateNarrow&BarnaUpdateID=280

Excerpt:

"The study shows that 16- to 29-year-olds exhibit a greater degree of criticism toward Christianity than did previous generations when they were at the same stage of life. In fact, in just a decade, many of the Barna measures of the Christian image have shifted substantially downward, fueled in part by a growing sense of disengagement and disillusionment among young people. For instance, a decade ago the vast majority of Americans outside the Christian faith, including young people, felt favorably toward Christianity’s role in society. Currently, however, just 16% of non-Christians in their late teens and twenties said they have a "good impression" of Christianity."

So. What do you think? Do you think it's true? Are you in that age group, or know people who are? If it's true or false, why do you think that?
