Have you ever noticed when you don't see someone online for a few days, do you ever wonder what happened to them?

I just found out that one of our Religion and Spirituality frequent contributors was in the hospital this past week (Pastor Art). I found out because I had posted a question to his e-mail directly and he just responded to me.

I don't know about you, but it bothers me that there is no way to find out when someone is in the hospital, or worse yet, when someone might pass on.

It's one of the drawbacks of having relationships via computer, don't you think?

(Sorry to be so depressing, but to me, this is a concern)

A new off-Broadway musical, "Walmartopia," is packing audiences in New York. With entertainment and corporations going hand-in-hand (children's cartoons and cartoon products being a prime example), it seems inevitable.

Surprising, though, is the fact that the theater production is anti-Wal-Mart.

I was just wondering as I've read that the Kaabaa in mecca was originally a hindu temple to Shiva in pre-Islamic days (when an Indian king had control of a part of Arabia). Shiva also wears a crescent moon on his head as part of his look.

Is the islamic crescent symbol in any way linked to Shiva?

If so, is there some kind of tunnel that leads to eventual death at the end of the person's life, within the unconscious, in which such moral people will get a chance to accept Jesus as their Lord and savior?

For the first assignment of the year in my grade eight spanish class, I needed to answer a sheet of questions in class, then look up the answers I did not know either on the internet or another form of translation. Although Im quite sure of most, I need them to be checked and I need to get the answers for the remainder of the questions in the proper format. I haev tried to google it and use online translators but I cannot find the terms used in the informal way. (i.e. I found "Me nombre Laura" instead of the needed, "Me llamo Laura".
So, please, all of you spanish experts, answer the list of Q's I was assigned so i can check my answers and find the ones I needed. (theyre quite short, f.y.i andjust insert blanks for the required info, i.e. ___ for the location or whatever.)

1. Como te llamas?
2. Como estas?
3. De donde eres?
4. Como se dice "chalkboard" en espanol?
Cuantos anos tienes?
Cual Es tu numero de telephono?
Cual es la fecha de hoy?
Como se dice "pen" en espanol?

If you look at different cultures, you will see that their particular god(s) fit into their way of life. Societies that believe humans are above nature create gods that give them dominion over other life. Those that have social ranking believe that the supernatural world also has ranking (like ranking of angels).

People who believe they are subjugated by nature, like the rest of life, usually believe in multiple gods that help sustain their lives - gods that control the sun, rain, etc.

To me this clearly points to the conclusion that all our gods are manmade. Is this a valid conclusion?

Sadly, I have had to live in the United States all of my life. But I have had the pleasure of meeting many beautiful European ladies.

But generally speaking are American women much more masculine then European women?

The reason I ask is that we Puritans, we Americans hide our women under baggy sweats like the Arabs. I mean if you go to a public place such as the corner library or the grocery are the women not dressed like men in slacks or sweats?

Why is it that American women prefer to look more masculine when European women are still wearing dresses and their hair long as is the ideal woman (ie. Audrey Hepburn, Garace Kelly). Sure American women used to look like women but what ever happened?

At least some female celebrities still retain a feminine look such as Paris Hilton!

But what has happened to America? When did the lazy ugly Rosanne Barr look become the average look for American women? What can we do to improve the look of the 21st century United States woman?

allowing them to visit with JW relatives? In particular:

The JW's stand on blood transfusions. How do you make sure they'll never be able to impose their refusal of blood on your child, for instance, when staying with Grandma for the weekend, etc?

How about spiritual warfare? JWs believe it's important to do what's needed, ethical or not, to insure their message gets through. How do you deal with this practice AND encourage your children to know their relatives? For instance, sneaking the child to their meetings against your will.

These are issues I'm personally dealing with as my JW relatives still show interest in our family. I do not want to alientate them but I also want to protect my child. I'm curious how everyone else deals with it...

Ok i've known i was gay since i was really young. I never thought anything of it - accepted it as it was and had no problems but recently, every time i think about it - every thing inside me is screaming "unnatural" and i don't know what to do - i think the fact that i can't have children like straight guys bugs me - i mean i dont want kids - but its the principle! I really dont know wat to do - i thought i was comfortable and now my body is screwing with me. What should i do? Being gay suddenly feels unnatural - i mean how can it be natural when gays aren't able to screw a woman and obtain a baby the "natural" way? Sorry i don't mean to offend anyone - but i truly am asking for help - im really desperate. What do you think is going on with me? I just hope its not my biggest fear! (turning straight!)

Every single Democratic candidate for President has disavowed lobbyists and REJECTED funds from such special interest groups. **EXCEPT** Hillary. Who claims that WE (the people) are the ones backing those groups, and that they therefore represent US.

That's total bullcrap!! That's like saying that a corporation's CEO who's being paid $20,000,000 a year is being backed by the company's customers. When in reality, hardly anyone buying that company's products would want anything to do with that CEO's being paid such an obscenely-absurd salary.

I continue to support Hillary for President because she's the best person for the job. But I think she really NEEDS to **scuttle** the lobbies and the special interest groups, accept NONE of their funds, and deal DIRECTLY with US. The people. Do you agree? And if not, why not?

I am really curious because I answered Moonlits question and I corrected something somebody said about only asking Allah to forgive you (it's obvious one needs to ask Allah swt to forgive you). I said that when you wrong or hurt somebody you are supposed to also ask that person to forgive you too. I got a ton of thumbs down which doesn't normally bother me but then I also go reported and my answer is no longer there. So,.....I started wondering. I know I have read in Islamic lit. that you should ask others to forgive you in certain situations (although in the end it is Allah who forgives you)....I am at work now so I cannot quote them but I did a quick search and in the article in wikipedia on forgiveness it says that in Islam you do also ask the person to forgive you. So, what is right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forgiveness
