I have this feeling of being insecure abt walking in the street. I'm not that pretty but i suppose I look ok and I dress up neatly and decently and I don't wear too much makeup, but in spite of that there's always someone who'll pass u by in the street and start picking on u with dirty word..
There's another thing i'm really scared of. I always have this feeling that someone might grab my bag and run with it or maybe points a knife at me and force me to give him everything...
My question is how can a girl protect herself if she's walking alone in the street or maybe riding in cab..it's not safe anymore..plz someone help me??

Heh, if I asked you to believe in the invisible lion, and you said but i can't see it, and I said to you, but you can't see the wind, you just see its effects, would you be convinced there is an invisible lion?

God as creator, or the universe started by accident.

Telling me I can't see wind, but I can feel the effects, just like I can feel the effects of God, don't you think if I could feel the effects of God I'd believe in her?

Is there anything more insulting to people's intelligence then "well you can't see wind but you can feel its effects, uh, so feel God's effects".

If anyone has converted to any religion because of the wind thing, bravo to you, I've got this invisible lion . . . . . .

The planet Earth is the only planet known that can support life as we know it.

The planet has shown many times in the past that there is a limit to what it can produce and if the human population exceeds what the area can provide there will be direr consequences.

On abortion some will say that this is killing the unborn child even if this unborn 'child' is no more than an unrecognizable clump of cells so small that literally one or two might be able to be placed on the head of a pin.

War is just 1 of many proofs of over population. Certainly war must be more objectionable than killing a group of cells that could die before birth [ by a miscarage ] but the vocal religious do not 'seem' to object to wars. In the past wars cleared out neighboring populations for the invading population. Is this acceptable to the religious people.

Earth is only so big & it is not getting any bigger. If there are more people then there are more competing for the limited resouces.

I'm a Filipino and I have gotten discriminated before. Even it was a long time ago, I can't get over it. I was @ wal-mart and I was walking alone and two african-american kids were asking about where I went to school and what was my nationality. They thought I was Chinese until I said no and then they said I was Japanese. Later on, I stopped by them again and they were speaking gibberish making it sound like an Asian speaking their own language like, "Chon chang ton kwan." My question is how come people stereotype Asians like me a Filipino (such as the "Got Rice" song)?

I am going through hell at work, being harassed and discriminated against by my supervisor. I have reported him but because of our different ethnicities, he is always believed over me.

Please don't tell me to change jobs. I have a civil service job with good pay and benefits. No one is going to run me out of a job that I enjoy. It's the supervisor who is the problem. Transferring is not an option. I am so very stressed out that I am having trouble sleeping and concentrating. Thank you.

If you are a christian and you DON'T believe these things:

-The Bible is 100% literal truth
-All non-christians, regardless of what kind of people they are, are going to hell
-Every other ideology/belief is wrong

Then you should call yourselves something else besides Christians, like Neo-Christians or something like that. I gotta believe that many of you would not want to be associated with some of the close-minded nutcases that you have seen on this site and the community. I also think that Christianity as a whole needs some reform from the more liberal minded in the church, and seperating yourself from the larger group may be the needed wake-up call.

The fact is a world-view that does not allow for the beliefs of others will detract from ever achieving a peaceful world and an ideology that preaches about love thy neighbor should be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Agnostic, don't want to convert anyone.

If you don't believe in God, is there anything anyone could do or say that would make you believe in God? Or would it require a supernatural occurence, the presence of God herself?

If you don't believe in evolution, would there ever be any proof that you could see that would change your mind?

If you don't believe in the invisible tree in my front lawn, which has no empirical evidence, would it be reasonable of me to suggest it gives me shade?
