I am jewish by the strict definition (my mother is jewish, her mother is jewish, etc.). My wife is Catholic. We just gave birth to a boy. If my wife converts, is my son now considered Jewish also, or does he need to convert also?

If the world was convinced that some people are indeed born gay, then some would feel there is a need to protect homosexuals by the government as a designated minority class status, such as African- or Native-Americans. Slowly but surely, it seems the government is embracing this view and granting special rights to the homosexual community for what is a behaviorally based identity rather than a true genetic one.

Even if somewhere in the future a genetic link could be proven, it wouldn’t suddenly make the behavior right or acceptable to society.

I understand that little kids shouldn't watch/play the bad video games, tv shows, movies, and other stuff... But why do some of these parents want to take it away for everyone else? If they don't want their kids to watch/play that crap then why don't they just block it on tv and not buy the video games for them. I don't think it's right to want to take it away all together. It seems like everything now is for just little kids.

A question I read here some time ago asked ' why black people can call themselves the ' n ' word but are offende when a white person wouold say it. That got me thinking about the word itself and the context that it is used in. The word originated, I think, back in slavery times by a population of incredibly ignorant peoples of the white persuasion to represent what they believed the black to be. Unclean, uneducated, not to be trusted with anything and unmotivated to work unless forced. I would hope that in todays times, the majority of us know none of this to be true for the vast majority of the black population. But, what of the minority of black people who have decided that the life of crime or welfare is justified because of their race. Thats not to say a segment of the white population are not as deeply involved in crime or using welfare to keep their sorry asses at home, but we dont have as derogatory a term applied to us. Which brings me back to the question?

Just venting - not looking for answers ... relocated unexpectedly to the south from the north east - where i was in school - now i can't get into a damn program here - nobody wants to help, talk or even listen to me for crying out loud! I'm at my wit's end! I know - listen to me whining!!!! Just frustrated - been working on this since March 06 and just hitting brick wall after brick wall - guess "the powers that be" are telling me to stay away from this field is all i can think of - but HOW is there a darn shortage when nobody can get into school??? They're all full of wide-eyed money hungry kids who think they're gonna make enourmous amounts of cash - then they wipe one butt and realize it's not for them - meanwhile the rest of us suffer!
