How many hungry people could eat for the money that might be spent on one day? How many nice brides become the epitome of ugly when they spout garbage like "It is the bride's RIGHT to pick the colors!" or "Is it tacky to ask for money only at my shower?" How many women believe that by virtue of "dreaming of this day since they were little girls" they are entitled to pout and stomp and throw fits when the cake leans to the left a little bit? Worse yet, how many people have said "their special day" was "completely ruined" by their drunk priest, inept photographer, stupid cousin, etc? Is this the height of unmitigated gall to have a whole day dedicated to you and to allow one thing to ruin it? If you and your fiancee are coming to blows over invitations, are you scared that it might be a bad omen?
I'm not bashing all weddings, if you can afford it or have modest aspirations, good. I do have a problem with finanacing a party that you will pay off for a long time to come.
Thoughts?

For people that claim they are pushing for logic and reason on my last question you showed a lack of an understanding of logic. Take a logics course in college when you get there or just buy a logic textbook in a local bookstore or just take a look at one. The argument against an assertion is the assertion of the opposite argument. Let me break it down. Let's say 1 = theology. Then your argument set at negating they only would = -1 when these two come together in 1 - 1 = 0 which is what you are setting out to do with your arguments, which is all good and well but you need to realize that 1 - 1 is the equivalent of 1 + (-1) therefore it is still a positive argument and an assertion.

IF you are going to ask where equations come into play in an argument once against study logic. And before you ask how is this a question the question is why say it is an argument against when is also an argument for the opposite.

Seriously, think about how much less crime and injuries there will be. If you disagree you are stupid just like Bush.

FYI - He is a Roman Catholic and is very well known for his anti-Semitic statements (and no, it's NOT Mel Gibson in "The Patriot" - although he does idolize Mel for rallying people against the Jews).

The planet Earth is the only planet in this solar system that can support life as we know it.

It is very apparent to me that there is only so much space , so much resources etcetera and that these resources have to be shared among all the living things on the planet.

The planet is about 8000 miles in diameter [actually less 7925 @ the equator & 7900 pole to pole] This makes for about 200 million sq mi TOTAL surface area and about 60 M sq mi of 'dry' land including antartica , the sahara and other inhospitable places.

The human population IS putting a great deal of pressure on the ecosystem.

If there were fewer people there would be more land area per person and maybe some to spare for the other creatures that inhabit the planet many of which we depend upon either directly or indirectly.

Why is trying to control the human population a taboo subject and or why do the vocal religious people so dislike the idea of contraception or other preventative abortion measures or abortion?

Notice I did NOT say that atheists do not have morals--I thank God that many, perhaps even MOST of them do.

But do you see the inconsistency in the following behaviors of atheists:

If human life is no more sacred or special than rodent life or even a stand of trees, then how can atheists defend incarcerating people for killing people, when they don't impose the same punishment for people who use mousetraps or who make a living as lumberjacks?

If the most moral decision, as many atheists believe, is the one that brings about the greatest good for the greatest amount of people, then would not the highest moral decision be to eliminate all suffering on the earth, by eliminating all beings CAPABLE of sufferering?

If the earth is just one of millions or billions of places in the universe where life exists, and the life there isn't all that special, wouldn't blowing up the planet be as inconsequential as, for instance, squashing a bug?

Thank God, atheists don't have the guts.

I asked the question to see what kinds of answers I would get, it was a joke.
However, most didn't answer my question. I asked how many here would like to whack at the harrassing unbelievers?
Al most all thought that I was the guy that wanted to whack at them.

The funniest answer that I got was the first one it was frm Joni B.
She said That doesn't seem very Holy to me. It tickled me so much I couldn't stop laughing. I laughed so hard tears came.

You are a Great Bunch.
You really made my day.
Thanks--

Suppose you could invite three living people to gather with you for the afternoon to have a conversation for three to five hours. Who would you invite? What kinds of questions would you ask each one? As long as we are imagining, you may assume that you can all communicate in a common language.

I asked for 2 days off work three weeks ago, and have just been told that I can't have them off (I have over 200 hrs holidays owing)
I wanted them off as I am moving house this weekend (I get the keys on sat afternoon.. so I wanted mon & tues off aswell as I am a single female that has to organise this move on my own and I don't have any family in my city to help me move..and friends can only help me sat arvo & sun arvo.. I have heard moving is one of lifes most stressfull experiences..This I am feeling already as I am awake till 2am everynight worrying how I am going to get this move done..Should I just make everyone at work happy and go in annoyed, stressed and pis**d off.. or should I just take the days off as sick leave even though they will know I'm only doing it to move, and unpack..and possibly get in trouble with the boss??(probably will).. I am stretched financially because of this move and cannot afford to pay removalists or lose my job.. what do you think I should do??
