when i was a freshman in high school, i cut myself for a while, but i went on anti-depressants and went through counsiling and i was better for a while...then senior year i had a bad experience at the beginning of the year and i've been doing it again ever since...i want to stop, but i don't think i can...i don't want to tell my parents because i will be forced into the hospital again...i don't want that at all...add to that the fact that my friends have no idea, and i don't want to put that kind of pressure on them...plus i feel dumb or stupid or like a freak because i'm a guy and we're supposed to be able to handle this kind of stuff...i just have no idea what to do

Apparently, my last question "Why do some homosexuals get sex changes, wouldn't that defeat the purpose?" touched some nerves. So I decided to rephrase the question. No, I am not stupid for those who asked. I am a little new to this subject since my brother just came out recently and he's looking to taking hormones and things. I was looking for a little clarity on the subject. So instead of mocking my lack of understanding on the subject help me.

Religion is man-made concept.
Do we need to believe in or follow a religion to have faith in God.

Do we really need a religion to define what is good or bad?
Or what we should or should not do? Who will go to 'heaven' or 'hell'. Who will enjoy the 'afterlife'?

How have religions bridged the gap between other faiths?
Through tolerance? Yet they maintain that their faith is the only true path?

Religions have created the greatest division among men the world has ever known. For something that should unite humanity, they seem far more effective at dividing us.

Revelations
1-1 things which must shortly come to pass;
6-12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
6-13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, and she is shaken of a mighty wind.
6-14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
6-15 And the kinds of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
8-7 The first angel sounded, and there followed fail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

i've heard this myth alot. But it's actually true in my life. I'm so stupid and slow, and can't think. but my sisters talk so much and so fast. I see it in my father too, mother talks so much and father talks, alot too, but i can see that he talks more to make a point than to talk. and sometimes my mother complains that he doesn't understand what he is saying. Are girls just smarter ? As a kid i was always encouraged to talk just as equally as my sisters.so where do men go wrong? Why are we bad at speaking generally? I know there are men who are good at speaking but i've seen many more who are not.

Anyone have any negative thoughts about it, it seems like alot of gnostics I know study the kabbalah and look for deeper meanings to things....I recently discovered the concept via some friends and it is a very different apporach. Perceiving reality due to personal experience seems legit. Your thoughts.....
Also, I'm not interested if you think it is heretical or "Not the word of god".....it seems like the first christians were mystics....
Anyways, this is all new to me and I am curious...

Why is that? The role of Christians was not to seek “power over” others — by controlling governments, passing legislation or fighting wars. Christians should instead seek to have “power under” others — “winning people’s hearts” by sacrificing for those in need, as Jesus did, Mr. Boyd said.

“America wasn’t founded as a theocracy,” he said. “America was founded by people trying to escape theocracies. Never in history have we had a Christian theocracy where it wasn’t bloody and barbaric. That’s why our Constitution wisely put in a separation of church and state.
Amen?

By the way, I don't want a dictionary definition of religion. I just want your view on it like its definition, its advantages, disadvantages,etc.etc.

I have been dating the same guy for almost six months. Last weekend he confessed he likes to wear girls clothes. And he wants me to help dress him up. Should I take him shopping and put him in everything from panties and bras to a dress, or drop him and move on? He says he is straight. I do really care about him, but do not love him yet.

I've had Christian boyfriends before, but I have also been rejected solely on my religious choice, which I think is blasphemous. It shouldn't be my religion, it should be who I am. I'm only in high school, so it's not as if this is for life. My main problem is that I live in the bible belt, and there is only one other atheist at my school...and we didn't get along so well. Is it possible for me to have a high school relationship with a Christian and be happy?
