I hear people posting saying things like: At least we can think for ourselfs! As if to say look at me I'm a big boy/girl..I can think on my own, as if that's some intellectual revelation. It would seem to say Christians need approval to think or to have thoughts or don't have the ability to think because we as 94% of all Americans believe in God. As if to say the 6% are the most brilliant because they don't believe in God so that makes them more intelligent. I don't think they see their own arrogance with such statements.

I think the next time I see this: Look at me I can think on my own like a Big Boy or Girl I'm just going to ask if they burp themselves too.

Am I seeing this right?

I know i am probably totally weird, but when i see men crying(like how Jack does on Lost) it makes me find them really attractive! I even think some women look really beautiful when they cry.
Mind you seeing people really laugh is also a beautiful thing. Shall i book appointment at doctors?

The seven candlesticks represent the Seven Churches of John's day, but what do the 7 stars represent?

I breifly saw a preacher on sky yesterday and he said that God had spoken to him directly. At the time I dismissed him and laughed along, but it has made me think.
I have no faith, but I am intrigued.
When a religious person says they speak with God, are they being rhetoric or do they (you?) actually converse?
As an uptight Englishman, the larger than life USA preachers remind me of an Eastend market trader, and I cant take them seriously, but do ordinary religious people converse with God?
And I do mean converse, not just talk TO. Get answers too.
And what is that like?
Go into a bit of detail if you can. Dont just say "I do and thats cos Im a Christian" or something.
I am genuinely interested.
Is it just the devout that have access to their God?
Dont bash me. Im just asking.

I would quite happily say thanks to God if she made herself known to me, but.....absolutely loathe organised religion.

Is this a dichotomy? I dont think so - if god exists and created the fabric of life - religion is man made.

My best friend has been acting jealous lately. I am a good friend to her when she needs someone to watch my godson. I do it without a second thought but the thing is she has been acting stank. I have come back from a program that helped me complete my education and i have a trade now. I also live in my own apartment with no kids. I did this all by myself and before she had my godson i always told her she could do it but why does she act stank. I never act better then her but at times she can be rude for no reason or try to put me down. What she did to her life is her fault why does it feel like she is blaming me.

But the cashier refuses to accept it because you are paying in such a small tender. what can you do. can you call the police. who can you contact. money is money and they have to accept it.

With the advances in modern science quickly explaining the mysteries of life, why do we still hold on to cultural stories and practices as truth, enough to kill for them?

When is the human species going to finally grow up and start facing reality, instead of clinging to the safety blanket of religion?

Daniel 2:47, “Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings."
Daniel 11:36,“and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods.”
Deuteronomy 10:17 “For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible.”
Joshua 22:22, “The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth.”
Psalm 136:2, “O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
Micah 4:5 “For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.”
Well, the usual contradictions between tradtional belief & what's actually written in the mythologies.

No matter where I go I always see full brick churches, two stories high with big expensive stained glass windows and rich wooden doors and fancy details everywhere. Then I see 60 year old schools and libraries crumbling at their base, with rotting floors and stained walls and they are still being used by students. Is education not more important than religion yet? It's disgusting that churches can spend so much money on building momumental buildings when the money could go to so many other things.

1. You can murder 1000 people, repent, say you're sorry and still go to heaven. Repenting wont bring back 1000 lives

2. The 10 commandments are irrelevant because Jesus died for you to break them

3. God will forgive you for ANYTHING you do? Thinking that wont help your bad behavior

4. The bible teaches that Atheists are fools. Your belief promotes belief conflicts. Isn't that the worlds biggest problem?

5. You're taught that we're born bad? That wont help your self image or self esteem

There's more but i'm tired of typing

I also do not believe in any form of god nor do I practice any faith... I just wanted to get opinions from people that are not like myself.. that's all :).. thanks

Is it because you are bored? Do you really dislike each other as much as it sounds? Why is even the nicest comment made to look insulting? Then in the end you all want to impress everyone that you are really intelligent. Isn't the intelligent person the one wise enough to accept others as they are? Peace

I think it was Jesus...About a rich man showing worship to God and a poor beggar guy confessing his sin to God and something about how the beggar dude was better because he confessed he was a sinner. I dont think the rich dude confessed. I'm not sure. I remember it from a long time ago, but its a faint memory... I think I got the story right. I just want to know where I can find it in the bible. I would do a search but I dont know the exact words to put in. Thanks!!
