In my husband's former marriage (if that's what it was), they practiced a swinging lifestyle. She and he both had other sexual partners and she was homosexual. This doesnt happen in our marriage, it's something he has asked God's forgiveness for and doesn't even desire anymore. My question is, if marrying a divorced person is adultery according to the bible, are we committing adultery to have remarried, when their relationship was wicked and an abomination in God's eyes?

I recently entered Islam but i am having a big problem with interpretation, espesially since i am so young. I know the basics but i wan't to learn more. This is becoming difficult as I hear different INTERPRETATIONS of the same verse etc... When i try to interpret it myself It turns out i was completely wrong or nearly right. Also with the Hadiths, some say that some cannot be verified therefore it shouldn't be followed. I know that Islam is the truth It is just the interpretation that is bothering me. I seem to think like the "minority" (if you get what i'm saying) and i don't want to get the wrong idea or think wrongly.

What can i do?

Quoted from an answer to one of my other questions on Y!Answers :

"The scientists decided they had created life. So a representative was sent to God to tell Him. He responded...fine, go ahead!

The scientist picked up some clay. With that, the skies darkened, rains fell, thuder roared and lightning flashed. In fear the scientist asked: What's wrong?

God replied...Get your own clay!"

Given that a hundred years ago people would have said that cloning a human being and mapping the Genome were impossible, and that six hundred years ago the technology we have now would have been considered devil worship and you would have been burned to death for studying such things by the church, surely in enough time and with enough technological and/or biological evolution and/or manipulation on our part we will reach a stage where it's possible to "Create our own clay" ?

Please assume that we could and tell me what argument you would you give to support the existance of God in that new world..?

I mean u believe He made me right? And He made me as an atheist cause i wasnt born with religion, just wondering why ppl say this.

We all have different options and come from different cultures so why can't we be more tolerant of others? Some questions are posted just to antagonise others. East against west is bad enough so why should people from western countries put down other countries and people from these countries? Especially a person who thinks he was once a member of a boy band and Britney Spears old boyfriend.
We are all different so why can't we enjoy the difference?

....sexual perversion that you would only admit to with anonymity (your identity withheld). Something that people who are close to you would have never have guessed, but you may have enjoyed at least once, many times, or maybe just in fantasy.

What clothes are the teachers allowed and not allowed to wear while teaching.

I've heard rumors that the teachers aren't allowed to wear shorts, back when I was in high school I've seen some teachers wear shorts, usually the knee length shorts.

and told you "based on this (insert arbitrary religious text with questionable historical support), we are giving your land to (insert arbitrary group) would you fight? Would you give up fighting if the occupying force had stronger allies? Would you ever recognize that said group had a right to your land?

I'm a Caucasian, American male, and I don't think my answer to any of these questions would be "yes". I would consider ANYONE , man, woman or child, who moved onto my land a military occupying force, with consequences fitting such a description, and no time limit on fighting. Does anyone have a different perspective that isn't just platitudes?

If not, stop supporting Israel.

I mean really, do they even read the bible?

You dont need to read the bible, listen to anyone, or even go to church. Everything is in you, the church, the law, and love, just follow your spirt. I can't believe how many people here quote these strange scriptures and say some one is going to hell...

1 John 2:27
the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you

Romans 7:6
But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code

Hebrews 8:11
No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest

Galatians 3
10All who rely on observing the law are under a curse

anything in the bible before death can be forgotten..

The entirely unearthly Mithras was worshipped as the "Good Shepherd", "the Way, the Truth and the Light", and as a redeemer, saviour and Messiah. Mithras was supposed to have been born to a virgin on what is now 25 December, and was visited by shepherds and Magi. He travelled and taught, cast out devils, made miracle cures, held a last supper, was killed, buried in a rock tomb and rose again after three days, at the time of the spring equinox in March (equivalent to the Christian Easter). Mithraism included baptism and Sunday worship, with a Eucharist and sacraments.

Mithra's birth was witnessed by shepherds and by Magi bearing gifts to his sacred birth-cave of the Rock (J. Smith 146). Mithra's image was buried in a rock tomb, a sacred cave that represented his Mother's womb. This was ritualistically removed each year, and he was said to live again. Mithra's triumph and ascension to heaven were celebrated during the spring equinox.

The similarities are striking.
