1. 1.0g NaOH and 50mL H2O
NaOH(s) + H2O(l) --> Na+(aq) + OH-(aq) + H2O(l)

2.1.0g NaOH and 50mL HCl of 1.0M
NaOH(s) + HCl(aq) --> NaCl(aq) + H2O(l)

3. 25mL NaOH and 25mL HCl
NaOH(aq) + HCl(aq) --> NaCl(aq) + H2O(l)

so basically, 1. solid base and water, 2.solid base and acid, 3. base solution in acid

I'm having a tough time with all of it but this I just haven't been able to figure out. This isn't homework just prep for a test.

A reagent bottle is labeled 0.450 M K(2)CO(3)

c) Assuming no volume change, how many grams of K2CO3 do you need to add to 2.00 L of this solution to obtain 1.000 M solution of K2CO3?

The answer in the back of the book is 152 g K2CO3. I've been trying for the life of me to get this.

Using the Ideal Gas Law (PV=nRT) can someone explain to me why the wind blows?

See, I know wind has something to do with the PGF, Coriolis Force and Friction...but I'm not precisely sure how the Ideal Gas Law explains it.

Gold can be separated from sand by panning or by a sluice box. In panning, water is mixed with the sand and the resulting slurry is swirled in a shallow, saucer-shaped metal pan. In the sluice box technique, running water is passed over an agitated sand gold mixture. What physical technique make this separation possible.
