Someone that I know believes in the "spare the rod and spoil the child" philosophy. It has been escalating and I want to confront the parent with shocking pictures of what could happen if he/she goes too far before I explore other options.

Has anyone had a problem with false negatives on the first response early result pregnancy tests? I took a test last night and it came up with a faint positive line. Took a blood test today and it came back negative with HCG at .5, right after they called me with the test results I stupidly took another home pregnancy test and it was a darker positive. Now I'm just frustrated and disappointed. Is there anything that can cause me to keep getting false positive pregnany tests? I'm not on any fertility medicines.

Thanks!

Im having a baby girl and I really love the name Zoe, the only poblem is that our surname also begins with "Z" so I need something to break it up. In my coulture we are not known to have middle names but this can be an exception. Its a long surname consisting of 11 letters so the first and middle names have to be short. Any suggestions would be appreciated, but I cant have Marie as a middle name as there are too many people I know that have already used it.

I know this may sound ungrateful but if anyone has been in this same boat I'd appreciate it.

My MIL refuses to get anything off our baby registry, instead relying on impulse buying of anything 'cute'/impractical. Every day she calls me and tells me about something else she's bought. I'm afraid we're going to end up without the stuff we really need and instead with 50 newborn outfits (not six months or twelve months, etc.). My husband and I have gone from hinting to explicitly stating this fact, and she always agrees but then when we go over there she shows my husband her latest purchases. (I'm having a shower in a few weeks and so she doesn't want to show me anything.) She's also the kind of person who acts really hurt if we ask to take anything back, and since she lives nearby she'll be checking to make sure the baby is wearing what she bought.

My husband and I thoroughly researched what we'd need and I'm just afraid the baby's going to get here and we'll be missing the essentials.

My daughter, almost 4 attends daycare. They are scheduled for her first field trip! The school sent a note home asking parents if they could come and transport the kids in their cars (not just your own child, but others). I, horrified at the idea of someone I don't know transporting my daughter and wanting her to be able to go, took off work to transport her, but clearly stated I did not want the liability of other kids in my car.

Wires got crossed and I found out today that they had "planned" for two kids to ride with me. I put my foot down, that no, I would not. Her teachers seemed upset with me.

I work as a teacher and have heard horror stories of lawsuits and false charges from teachers for giving rides to students.

What do you think?

Is there a difference in the feeling? If you're married and have children. Or not married (just living together) and have children? Is there any real difference within the feel of the family? And when the couples break's up is the impact just as equal?

as per my last question i am concerned if my son is getting enough to eat, he usually gets around 15 ounces a day, weighs 8 pounds, he has two doctors, one says i need to get him eating 20 ounces a day, and the other says he should be fine as long as he says over 12 or so ounces a day,
i'm so confused! i breastfeed but use a bottle because he has a cleft palate and cannot latch properly.
my question now is, is it normal for breatfed babies to eat less then formula fed babies??

i went to a part, when i was 14, got a girl pregnant (i had never met her before that night.) she called me three weeks later, said she was pregnant, it was mine. i was in year 9. she was 17, had graduated, and was almost 18. i decided to do the right thing and stayed with her, as i had alway been taught that abortion where wrong, convnvced vher to keep it and we would work something out. when i told my parents they kicked me out, so i had to stay with different friends every week, some times i slept in the street if i coulent find a place to stay. i quit school, got a job and started doing a nigh course to become a mechanic. that course took 5 years to complete, as i had very little highschool education. the time came and lana gave birth to our baby girl. we got an apartment together, and things went alright, me and lana didnt date, and we wernt a couple through this time. when our daughter was one month old lana went down to the store and didnt come back. she left me, 14, almost 15 with a baby. i had never met her parents, and mine wanted nothing to do with me. one of my friends mums decided that i couldent be living there with my baby, and moved me into her house, and paid for everything so that i could stay home and work. then i had a falling out with my friend, her son when my daughter was 1 and i was 15 so i moved out again, got parttime work and daycare for my baby girl. now i am 29, and kell is almost 15. i will never forgive her mother, but i want her to come back and meet her daughter, i have tried to find her for the past 8 years with no sucsess.

Okay, yes I know I have been asking questions, but I'm worried. Look, I know im young so stop yelling at me! Anyway, we talked about it and he said "I wouldn't want you to kill my kid", well man, I don't know what that's suppose to mean. We keep having unprotected sex, and the other day, when we were um yeahing, he was like "do you want me to pull out?" i said "what?" (I didn't hear him that clear), but then he kept going, does it mean he wants to have a child with me?

I had my daughter 2 and a half months ago, we were thinking of trying again in January.

My Dad left my Mother and me when I was 3 years old to have an affair and hasnt been in contact since.
I would never want contact with him now anyway after what he did because he isn't worth my time in my opinion but do you think a Father(or Mother for that matter) should ever be forgiven for leaving their children?

My daughter is 3 months and 3 weeks. When she was first born (4 weeks early) she wouldnt latch on so there fore I was unable to breastfeed. My mom contacted a lactation consultant and they said to keep trying every day. So I tried for a couple weeks then just "gave up". Tonight I thought I would give it a try again. She actually latched on and stayed on for about 20 minutes. Is this normal for her to want to breastfeed 3 months after birth? How do I know if she is getting enough? I need as much advice as I can get because I would like to breastfeed if it is possible.
