I have been on Nortriptaline for 2 years to control my IBS. I have tried periodically going off of it and it has resulted in lots of "flare-ups" so I stayed on it. However, now I may be pregnant (1 week or so along) and I have stopped taking it at my doctor's advice. Now 5 days off of it, the IBS is coming back! Has anyone out there successfully treated their IBS while pregnant or know of any good methods? It is really painful for me and I would love any advice you have. Thanks everyone!

... I have been suffering from exhaustion due to travelling up and down the country sorting out Family problems.
I made a point of getting back last Friday evening (with lots of trouble due to the train delays so I had to change *twice*) so that my son and daughter-in-law could have their Friday night out while I had the boys.
Now she has already stressed me out by coming round here early on Saturday morning and upsetting J. (my middle one) by telling him that he would have to catch up on schoolwork not just then but on Sunday too (and they are supposed to be on holiday!).
I was to have them yesterday but I am just too exhausted and I blame *her* for stressing me out.
Now she has made other arrangements and that is fine but the boys want to see me and go to the seaside but I can't face seeing her as she starts on about schoolwork again which *she* could oversee in the *daytime* if she was not in fulltime "work" (which she doesn't *have* to do).
So : should I simply

i applied for a job at the movie theaters a few months back when i was like 4 months pregnant and they just now called me to come in for an interview (if i was still interested) which i am because i worked at the movie theaters like a year or two ago and its really fun. So what are the chances of them hiring me when im 7 months pregnant?? i dont have to work, but im bored out of my mind staying home and i want to do something and make a few extra dollars. Do you think they'll still hire me..i have alot of experience because i worked there before so i know they would take that into consideration. And when i do give birth, im just gonna need a few weeks off then im sure ill be back working again..so what do you think? what are my chances? serious answers only please..thanx

I'm worried because my son and other daughter are chubby compared to her. Jade did have heart surgery when she was 1 day old that might be why i worry so much about her. Like I said I think she is around 32 inches tall and 30 pounds. Is it also normal for her spine to protrude alittle? Its done it for as long as i can remember. SHe has no eating problems, shes not picky she wil eat jut about anything so I know its not from anything like that. Please give me your opionion, thanks.

when he presents you with something he made with a poor effort? Do you tell him the truth? Do you build up his self-esteem with a lie? Or do you teach him how to manipulate the truth by saying something in-between?

How can you see boy and girl parts earily in a pregnancy. I thought babys all looked like girls in the beginning and they if it was a boy a boy part would form. Someone told me that they all look the same in the beginning (13 weeks). Thanks for your opinions!!

hi, I have 3 boys, ages 14,11 and 9. When they are in chlorinated pools for an extended period of time...ie when on vacation, their skin on their face and neck, sometimes on their arms becomes very red and blotchy and when I apply sunscreen it stings!!!!! This usually happens on about day 2 or 3 of our vacation after prolonged exposure to the pool water. Any suggestions for any barriers that could be applied to their skin to prevent the initial problem from happening or any suggestions at all!!! thanks.

As I understand, the Mutts and Moms rescue gang apparently wouldn't let Ellen's hairdresser keep the little dog Iggy because she had a 10 and 12 year old daughter and their rules were their dogs are not placed with families who have children 14 or under. Do you think this is fair? Should families with children under the age of 14 be able to adopt puppies and kittens?

figure out if after we got married would she be able to automatically change her name over with me or would he have to legally adopt her. Just so u know he has been the only father she's known he's been around since she was 13months and she will be 8 this month so we were just trying to figure out the easiest route we could take in this situation.

Ok my sons 2month shots are scheduled for Nov 2.
Im really not wanting to let them give them to him. I have read allot of websites that are sad about children having bad side effects. I was not aware of this untill a lady i met at his 2wk check up was there with her daugher. The lady told me how her son had allot of problems and then autism.
I don't want to know i allowed my child to be put through pain and then more later on. Besides some vaccines don't even work from what i understand. I had all the vaccines and still got chicken pox and whooping cough my mom said.
So i need real answers nothing mean or rude. I don't care what people think of me cuz i know who i am and im just looking out for the best for my baby.
I understand he may not be able to attend school if not vaccinated.I m from Mississippi
And if i was to get his shots Can i space them or chose which ones i want. Cuz if i do decide i only want a couple that i think is neccesary.
Thank you for you time.

My precious baby boy will be 5 months old this Thursday, and I am almost positive he has started teething. He has been cranky lately, refuses his cereal at times, biting EVERYTHING. When did your baby get his first tooth, and how long did the symptoms last before the tooth broke through? What were his symptoms? and what worked best as far as relief for your baby? THANKS!

I have a son and daughter who just turned 3 and 2 in that order and so far on our first day of potty training (both of them) the result is pure and sheer frustration. Per advice of all around me, I put them in regular underwear to feel wet when they pee and in order to contain the mess they are wearing vinyl undies over that. Throughout the entire day they both peed on the potty when they woke up and then I would put them on the potty once every hour for about 5-10 minutes. My son peed on the potty most everytime, my daughter didn't pee on it a single time. And although my son peed in the potty, most of his underwear resulted in accidents and ALL my daugters were accidents. They didnt even ask to go once on their own, I am the one that took them every single hour. I rewarded them for every time they peed on the potty with their favorite treat and I asked them several times within the hour before I took them myself if they had to go and they always said no! What do i do!??

My daycare provides afterschool pick up for my son from his elementary school to the center. He is 7 yrs old and he is being transported in an 8 passenger chevy van of some sort. They have 6 children with the one adult driver. Since all the children are young/elem. school age, they are all in booster seats. The problem is that there is not room enough for each child to have a booster b/c the width of the seats won't accomodate 3 across. How can I find out what New York states requires with regard to seat belted children in a daycare van? The daycare is now asking me to write a note of permission for them to transport my son in the third row of the van with only a lap belt. He would be between two booster seats and the seat in front of him is high - similar to a school bus. What are your thoughts on this? Where could I find out if this is even legal for them to do? I know school buses only have lap belts but don't they have different regs? Thanks for your help.

Is it the parent's responsibility to pay a child/young adult's traffic tickets,or probation fees? What do you think. I run into this all the time - my kid would be paying his own fines so he would learn not to do it again but somehow these parents feel they are helping their kids - can someone explain this? Am I missing something?

When I have baby #2 I will have a c-section again. So I'll be in the hospital about 3-4 nights. I'm with my child (baby #1) everyday, all day, I'm a stay at home mom. She'll be a little over two and I don't know how she'll do without me for that long. I'm really concerned about it. Does anyone have any advice from personal experience that could help me? Thanks!
