Pregnancy & Parenting - 22 October 2007

I asked another question regarding whether or not minors should be able to receive B.C./abortions without parental consent, and the answers were pretty much 50/50 for each side-here is my next one:
If a minor still under her parents care chooses to get either one of these without her parents consent and something DOES go wrong, should the parents be able to sue the child for medical costs, mental anguish, etc? After all, by completely excluding the parents the teen and the Dr. are both volunteering the parents unwillingly and unknowingly to cover any medical, emotional and mental issues that may arise. Also, by allowing the child to bypass the parents on medical decisions even though their parents are the ones financially responsible, you are saying that the child is mature enough to make sound medical choices......so if they do that, shouldn't they be automatically emancipated if it negatively impacts the parents?

My fiance's 2 yr old daughter will only go to bed if she has a cup of juice with her. We put her to bed, by the time we go to bed the cup is empty and she wakes up in the middle of the night screaming because she is thirsty. I know juice is bad because of the sugar and can cause cavities... How can I break this habit of having juice in bed, and in the middle of the night? I've tried putting water in her cup but she knows the difference between that and juice. I've also started to dilute the juice with water,but I don't want her to end up with bad teeth. Is there anything else I can give her to drink at night that is better for her teeth, or any ideas of how to break this habit?

first of all, i'm not naive on this subject- i'm in my mid 20's, have been married, and have a daughter. it's obvious to say that if you're having sex with no kind of protection whatsoever, then you can get pregnant right away. so, no one needs to say that:)

i ask because i'm having issues with changing bc pills- my fiance is overseas, so i'm obviously not having sex. for the first time ever, i went off of them completely to see how my body will handle my periods and such. (i have no health insurance, so going to the health department, paying full price for everything, for the "doctor" to tell me the same thing every time is not feasable anymore).

i just wanted to know what the real chances are. i mean, he can wear a condom. he can even withdraw- although, i think you can get pregnant from pre-***? we can also avoid my ovulation time, i guess....

what do you think about any of this?

how long will hcg levels be in my body after having a baby? i had a baby 14 weeks ago and have not yet had a period properly, I took a test this morning (well 2) and they both say positive could this be the hcg from the birth of my baby a few months ago? many thanks in advance and please no horrid comments this is a very sensitive issue xx

OK, my baby shower is the Saturday and me and my mom have decided to have it at my house. I have soo much cleaning to get done for this and I have no energy to do any of it. Daddy is gone from 4 in the morning to at least 6 at night with work,. so he dosn't help a lot because is is very tired form working all day. Here is what I have to do....

1.Clean out the baby's closet in his room since it was a storage area for us.
2. Finish staining the dresser for his room.
3. Put away the baby clothes that we have.
4. Clean up my other childrens bedroom.
5. Clean out my fridge.
6. Clean up my room, since I just throw everything in there when people come over.

Not to mention all the laundry that I need to get cought up on.

Plus I still need to pack my hospital bag, since I have delivered my other two children at 35 weeks, my doctor don't think I will go much past that if I do go past that. (I am 31 weeks now).

My question is how do ya'll get it all done? (With a 3 and 4 y/o)

how can i get pregnant easily !!???

its not really a pregnancy question but am not getting much joy in singles and dating.....my boyfriend and i have been on and off for 6 years..we've never lived together, he has his own home..he's always talked about us having a child together...we'll i'm pregnant...i've lost my job...havent been able to get another 1, already have 2 kids so have gone on benefits...here's the problem, benefits agency say its the law that i cant have a boyfriend sleep over, and have sent me CSA forms for when the baby is born as the dad doesnt live with me...he used to sleep over say half the week when i was working, but ive had to stop that...he wants to keep staying says 'no one will find out'....i cant do it....and wants me to tell CSA i dont know where he is...says i know he wont let the baby go without....i feel upset....and let down....didnt even know he had this side to him... this isnt how babies our brought into the world surely ? what do i do...any help would be appreciated...thank you x
