My hubby and I are TTC#3. I am on day 16 of my cycle and just came down with a yucky cold/sore throat. I am not exactly sure when i will ovulate(hopefully I already have) Do you think being sick will affect my chances of conceiving? Or if i have already conceived do you think it will lessen the chances of the pregnancy surviving?

She is 25 years old and she loves a man that is almost double her age. He likes her as well, but I think she is doing something that she will regret. I just need some major advice on how she could understand my point of view.

I prefer no L middle names, then the initials would be K.L.S. and sounds like kills. I know she'll most likely get a new last name after she gets married but still....
I thought an I would be cute, the initials would sound like Kiss. I'm probably too overly thinking it.
Our last name ends in an ee sound if that helps with finding a middle name!
Thanks!

Hello. I'm a 20 year old woman living in the UK. My partner is 21. We are planning on marrying next year and want to start a family shortly after.

However, we only earn £29k a year between us, this pays for our food, mortgage, bills. We have about £350 left per month after we pay these costs.

If I get pregnant, I can only have 9 months maternity leave, then I have to return to work, as my partners salary alone is not enough pay both of our share of the bills and support a baby.

Most girls who get pregnant at work, have their families look after their baby when they return to work but me and partner have nobody to do that for us, plus I feel it's important I be with the baby.

He earns £15k which is too much to claim benefits but isn't enough to support us both and a baby. He'll need to be on £33k +

It'll take over a decade for him to be earning that!!

Does that mean I can never have a baby??

We are probably going to name our daughter Corinne since it is the only name both my husband and I like. It is a very hard name to match up with a middle name. I like Lucille because it's my grandma's middle name, but my husband says its too old fashioned. Anyone have some good suggestions?

My daughter is four weeks old. She had been sleeping in her crib until a few nights ago...I brought her in my room because the weather was really bad. My husband and I both enjoyed having her sleeping in with us, and we all got a better night's sleep. I would like to do that more often, but I'm afraid if I start it now, she won't sleep in her crib later. Does anyone have any experience with this? I always swore I would never have an infant in bed with me...funny how your opinions change once you have one!! But like I said, I don't want to get into something it will be hard to get out of later. Any advice? Thanks!!

Where do I begin? My husband and I have been ttc for about 7 months now. We already have 2 children (ages 4 and 11) and for some reason cannot get pregnant. I have irregular periods. Sometimes 28 days and then 36 days.I went to the doctor about 4 months ago. He did a pap and an exam (everything came back normal). He put me on progesterone pills for 2 months to "regulate" me. I stopped the progesterone pills 2 months ago. The 1st period after was horrendous! I bled for 8 days and had severe clotting. Now I am on day 44 and NO period. I have taken 3 tests. The last test I took was Saturday night. It was negative. I am very confused. Also, my periods were regular while I was on the progesterone. I have made an appointment to see the doctor but that cannot get me in until Nov. 5th. Oh yeah, I have TONS of discharge. I mean tons! Oh, and also I seem to be losing a ton of hair. Clumps and clumps. I feel like I am losing my mind. Any opinions would be great! Thanks

I don't mean for medical reasons (although some might need to do that) but as a matter of course.
I can still picture the marks I made on the kitchen door when I measured my boys heights and it was fun and I wish that I had kept the marks because I do the same for my grandsons and it would be interesting to compare their heights with their Father/uncles at the same age (mind you I smacked for drawing on the walls so it would have been hypocritcal of me to leave the marks!).
As for other measurements - like most I was forever making those over clothing needs and weighing was another fun (and competetive!) routine at bathtime for the four of them although I never noted the results.
What got me thinking was this -

http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylc=X3oDMTE1bDM1ZW0wBF9TAzIxMTU1MjExMTgEc2VjA2Fuc19ub3QEc2xrA2Fuc21vcmU-;_ylv=3?qid=20071021180822AACNWoK

It really does seem odd to me to leave that to the schools (although as I say I don't object to school medicals at all).

The boy is now 24, the girl 22, great kids. I was a somewhat strict parent and both have some resentments, though never got in an serious trouble. But last week I got to know that in 2000 my girl got involved w/ a bad crowed, drank and joined them in grafiting a wall and breaking a window. When she realized what she had done she asked my boy help. They got along, he had some money, they paid for the damages and nothing happened. They didn't tell us. As soon I as I got to know, I talked to my son, I was mad and disappointed. He just said he decided no tell us, because he was sure that was just a moment of insanity her sister went through and she regretted. In fact she never mesed up again and he thinks it was a very mature decision. In his opinion, igf I had known, I'd be harsh, wouldn't trust the girl, she's kinda sensitive and would suffer for nothing. He's sure that would have destroyed our relationship forever. Im mad, I feel betrayed, but my son is sure he did the best thing.

My son and his friends told me this weekend that they are not allowed to talk during lunch at school. I am planning to talk to the teacher about this this afternoon. I think the boys are probably exaggerating and have just been told to keep quiet in there, but I was curious to know if other schools do that. I think it is rediculous not to let the kids talk on their lunch break.

I had a short relationship with a man that I had known for a while. Well, we had sex. He used the pull out method. It failed. I told him within the week after I found out I was pregnant. We got in an argument and I didn't talk to him until she was one month old. He came and saw her for aout 15 minutes and never came back. He got married, and his new wife told him that I said she wasn't his. When he asked about it, I changed the subject and have avoided it ever since. He now has 2 boys and my little girl.....
We talk regularly, with no mention of the paternity anymore.

My sister's daughter who will be 4 in may is so attached to her pacifier, it's pathetic...anybody else have kids like this ? My daughter who is 9 yrs old and my son who is 20 months old got the pacifier taken away at 3 months when the desire for sucking is not needed. Why do parents do this to their kids with pacifiers into toddlerhood. they look absouletely ridiciolious walking aorund with a binky

I have a 5 month old and were starting solids in about a month. Her sleep is horrible. She nurses alot during the night (about 3 real nursing sessions and then she will use me sometimes as a pacifier) and Im wondering how solids might impact her. I know research says that adding solids doesnt help baby sleep throught the night especially young babies but wondering about older babies.

My husbands daughter lives in NZ with her mother. We have recently found out that she is pregnant. We cannot say however we are suprised considering the ex-wifes behaviour, she is not the greatest role model. She has a files with welfare in just about every state in OZ, and no sooner did she arrive in NZ to live about 2 months later she had a file with them as well. (yes we tried to get custody, but lost, thats another story)..
Anyway we recently found out that the daughter is pregnant and she is only 14 years old. My husband is fuming (obviously). As the legal age to have sex is 16 in NZ does anyone know who we report this to? Is this another welfare matter or a police matter? Any help is appreciated!
We have concerns for her....
Ive tried looking on the net for information but havent been able to find anything..

She isn't really "into" any one thing right now. She kinda plays w/ her dolls still but not enough to spend more money on them. I would like to get her something that is fun and will be put to good use.

Any ideas???
