Pregnancy & Parenting - 22 October 2007

My 15 year old daughter just came to live with me. She lived with her father from age 10 to 15.

She hates living in the state where we live and constantly blames me for everything wrong in her life.

She says that she has too much acne because of me. I bought her some Clinique products and another cleanser to help with the acne and they made it worse.

Then, she constantly talks about her cousins or aunts on her Dad's side and praises them. I get tired of hearing about those cousins. My ex-husband constantly praised his sisters and compared them to me and it reminds me of that. I also feel like they have better lives than me.

Should I just ignore these things or say something to her?

my doctor warned me that im going to have these headaches but to take some extra strength tylenol. ive completly given up on the tylenol and nothing i do seems to help these headaches. any suggestions?

DH and I are TTC and I am nervous to take my pregnancy test. We've been trying for 6 months and I want this so badly, but I feel like I might jinx it. Has anyone ever felt like this?? I should have gotten my AF yesterday, but I am not 100 percent regular. I just keep putting if off thinking AF will come.

My ex-boyfriend cautioned me about that. I'm pretty scared to get pregnant but I do want kids. Also, I heard that pregnancy is miserable, & you're always either sick or in pain or feeling discomfort & that you never feel normal.

I have a history of strokes & I was told that I can't use any other birth control besides condoms, & my twin sister just recently had 2 strokes & so did my mom. Many people think I might stroke out again if I get pregnant & I might die from childbirth & stroke out. I also heard that stress & anxiety would cause me to be more likely to stroke out again. I have anxiety & depressive disorders & get highly stressed out all the time.

Ok today is day 12 of my cycle, I am having lite cramps, I never had a reguler cycle because of pcos, now I am taking metformin and now my cycles are 29 days, do you think this could be signs of ovulation?

There are two children with different parents, the father claims one of them, and has taken a DNA test. The other child he wont claim, nor take a DNA test. Can you get any results from taking the other childs and getting answers like that. Even though they have different mothers?

I raised my son to always question everything and never go along with the crowd. I wanted him to be an indivdual person. I think this might of worked a little too well. My oldest son has always been very independent. Never wanted anyones help to do anything. He never asked me questions on girls, how to shave, and when I took his training wheels off his bike he didnt let me show him how to ride it. He wanted to learn on his own. Then he goes off to college and Im not sure if this is a good thing or not. Most of my friends kids would constantly call them up and ask for money and help. Him on the other hand never asked for money once. Now I dont have much money to begin with but I would try to help him out by handing him 20$ here and there but he would always deny it. Now he is a senior in college and getting ready to enter the work place. I saw that he was looking at job aplications in Alaska, Montana, and Canada. This worries be because we are from Chicago.

My husband got to pick our son's name last name and named him after his grandpa. I'd like to name our next baby after my mom and grandma. Kyla is almost like my grandma's name and my mom's name is Vickie but i don't think it would sound good for a middle name so I made it Victoria which was what my grandma meant to name her! Would Kyla Victoria sound okay with two A sounding endings. the last name is an ee sound ending that starts with an S.

My mother in-law told me about how it strengthens your uterus and that is what I have been drinking it for.

Today I saw on the internet ladies drinking it to help them with labor.

Is it still good for me to drink this early in pregnancy?

Havent felt baby movement all that much. Had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago, everything was fine then. This morning saw some small leakage that was clearly not urine. It was in small amount though. Am I being paranoid? Are there any home tests I can take to detect (live in US)?

well, I’m not fat (120lb) but my boyfriend is (260lb) although he is a big man (6'1'') he is starting a diet today, and he is going to try to be a little more healthy.... My fiance, she'll be my wife in two weeks, and I just discovered that she is pregnant. She' s in the third week. She wants to tell he sister now, her sister has two kids and has had a miscarriage. I want to wait at least til 3 or 4 months to tell anyone. I've heard many first time mothers lose their first and I would prefer she wait at least through the first trimester. Should I give in?

We will not be shortening Elizabeth, so the choice of nicknames doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure we will call her Claire either way, but not completely sure. I have a feeling they will find my not pregnant, in spite of what these tests are telling me cause I got what I thought was a period a couple of weeks ago. I'm not puking or nauseous. I just have a cold now. Heard that could be a symptom. Who knows. I did have a lot more cm this month, starting shortly after my period. That I know is not normal. Maybe I'm ovulating early. (that's also not normal, I'm a day 16-20 kind of gal normally I think) Well, I'll get back to you'all after I go to the doc's. I really hope I'm pregnant!
