"Bush urged lawmakers to quickly approve legislation authorizing military tribunals and harsh interrogations of terror suspects in order to shield U.S. personnel from being prosecuted for war crimes under the Geneva Conventions"

Why do our military personnel need immunity from human rights laws if we aren't doing anything wrong?

You claim that the President and his handlers have told you the truth. You refuse to consider the information we show you that punches huge holes into the official version. You refuse to check out the information for yourself. You tell us what we have uncovered is false. Okay, we’ll buy that, we’ll concede that you’re right...and that all of us are wrong.

In fact, we’ll take it all back and admit the errors of our ways IF you do something first. Show us YOUR proof. Tell us why we should believe the story you have swallowed, and show us what you have to back up your claims! You’d better have something more than a borrowed smirk when you tell us we’re way out in left field. You better be ready to answer just one simple question:

Where the Hell is YOUR proof, true believers? Where the Hell is it?

Where the HELL is YOUR proof that Al Qaeda actually planned and carried out the attacks of 9/11?

I believe that rank-and-file Democrats are just as loyal and just as patriotic as anyone else in our country, but take a closer look at the "leadership" of the Democratic party in Washington DC... Some of the most liberal, most lunatic fringe radical Left wing politicians in the Universe have hijacked the Democratic party from the mainstream rank and file, and are trying to use it for their own political and personal agendas.

If the rank-and-file Democrats don't take control of their party and get back to the principles the Democratic party was founded on, then it may be too late to save them.

Has the GOP's IQ risen?

WASHINGTON - President Bush fought back Friday against a Republican revolt in the Senate over tough anti-terror legislation and rejected warnings that the United States had lost the high moral ground to adversaries. "It's flawed logic," he snapped.

I know that the war in Iraq is unclear and unpopular. I would like to know what you think should have been done rather than go to war. We already know that Saddam had WMD's in 1998 (Clinton read a list of them to the country : ), and that resolutions were ignored. The inspectors found no weapons or remnants of destroyed weapons; and Saddams declaration did not say where they went. What would your response be?

I'm talking about this news article, "Fury over Pope's remarks raises concerns."
I mean why bother about Muslim people protesting? Isn't dissent the purest form of democracy?

"ISTANBUL, Turkey - Pakistan's legislature unanimously condemned Pope Benedict XVI. Lebanon's top Shiite cleric demanded an apology. And in Turkey, the ruling party likened the pontiff to Hitler and Mussolini and accused him of reviving the mentality of the Crusades. Across the Islamic world Friday, Benedict's remarks on Islam and jihad in a speech in Germany unleashed a torrent of rage that many fear could burst into violent protests like those that followed publication of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad."

Why does the radical right believe that they are the only ones who believe in America? That they are the only ones who will or can protect us?
Where have the values that this country was founded on gone?
I fought for this country, served my time in the military, because I believe in freedom and I believe in what this country stands for. How dare the radical right say to the millions of people like myself, that we shouldn't question this president. Dissent is our right as citizens, and it is our duty to question our government be it in time of war or in peace.

I wonder without a bunch of laws would we have bands of roaming criminals taking from others and without the threat of heaven hell to reward good behavior with would we have more deaths and crime . Would we eventually come to the reality that we all need government s and a police force to control the people or have chaos .
IF so how much freedom do we really need .Just enough so that smart well educated people can work others for years and allow them just enough freedom to continue to work and survive or go to jail .
Just what is mankind after all .A bunch of animals that unless caged would gather in packs and kill others .Or unless made so fearfull that they believe in A God who will grant them entrance to heaven if they follow the rules .JUST what is it that will make us seek peace and learn to get along.
LOOKS like for around 78 years or so on average we will argue just this point .Who and what are we .I think evil animals who must be broken before they become usefull to society.

In America, both our main political parties share many of the same beliefs, but it seems as if they've exploited and magnified their relatively small differences to polarize the public. This, in turn, has lead to a society that has rarely been this divided (exception being the Vietnam War, etc.) Granted, the war in Iraq is probably the only thing worthy of such division, but in the classical sense of politics all Americans are liberals so why do these people insist on making mountains out of molehills? If, as is seems logical, it's simply to remain in power then perhaps my growing disillusion with American government/politics is warranted.

Today the Pope quoted a midevil text which described some of the teachings od Muhammad as " Evil and Inhuman". The Muslims are now beginning to protest and riot on a scale that hasn't been seen since the Muhammad Cartoon back in Feburary ( It's a little pathetic that this stuff was jsut going on 7 months ago, isn't it?) As a Catholic, I don't reallly think the Pope had to throw more logs into the fire by doing that, but I see why he might quote that. He didn't denounce or praise the quotation BTW. Jhadism is pure evil. What do you think?
