Why were they able put a minimum on how low gas stations can sell it. If they can interfere like that with companies like the gas stations, why can they not put a max on how much the oil companies can sell it for? Because the gas stations don't sponsor there elections with millions of dollars, thats why. Anyone agree? Or am I mistaken?

"I recount that history because once again we face similar challenges in efforts to confront the rising threat of a new type of fascism... But some seem not to have learned history's lessons."
-Donald Rumsfeld

I've always thought that the Bush administration's rhetoric displayed an unhealthy amount of Freudian projection, but this really tears it. Do I really have to tell you how accusing your political opponents of endangering the nation and appeasing the enemy is a classic fascist tactic?

Right wingers lament the tendency among liberals to use words like fascist and Nazi in describing the Republican agenda. But if the new White House strategy to deflect criticism is to call their critics Nazi sympathizers, I'd say all bets are off. So let's talk about fascism.

The New Jersey governor got into trouble because of accusations of bribery and placing a clearly unqualified person in the state homeland security post. But when the fires got hot, he made his speech about being "a gay American" and resigned, making it seem to some not following the story that his sexuality forced him from office.

I am not gay, or a gay-basher. And I'm sure he had struggles I can't imagine because of his private life. But it just seems to me that he conveniently wrapped himself in the "tortured and persecuted" flag of the gay rights movement to deflect attention from his ethical troubles. I could be 100% wrong, but I don't think absent the ethics questions he would have had to resign.

I am not coming at this as a Republican or Democrat. He's not running for anything. But please let me know if I'm missing something. Because I think he's falsely claiming to be a "gay martyr." If I were gay I might be a little angry.

John McCain proposed a policy known as the "rogue state rollback", in which the US arms, equips, and supports forces that will overthrow rogue governments and set up democratically elected ones. The idea is to keep US troops out of danger

Isn't this how the whole problem with al Qaeda and the Taliban got started in the first place?

Seriously, they have ALL THE CARDS, and yet they are letting their opponents bluff their way right into the majority seats.

I personally think the DNC needs a better spokesman than Mr. Dean.

( For those who have ill will towards USA, please do not bother to spit wicked words... Not interested )

I was reading the article below, made me wonder how americans are dealing with it...

" The president's measure would go further than the Senate package in allowing classified evidence to be withheld from defendants in terror trials, using coerced testimony and protecting U.S. interrogators against legal prosecution for using methods that violate the Geneva Conventions." - Yahoo! news sept 15th 2006

1. Why is it ok for Bush to use torture methods, but when other nations do that, its a huge issue of Human Rights Violation

My main question is How are Americans dealing with it? Do you all agree or disagree.

Nancy Pelosi has promised that within 100 hours after taking control of the House on January 3, Democrats will pass legislation to increase the minimum wage, mandate the negotiation of Medicare prescription drug prices, fully implement the recommendations of the 9/11 commission, and repeal tax benefits for big oil companies.
