I personally want to thank the people of Rhode Island for keeping a far right challenger from taking Chafee’s place this fall. We need all the Moderates in this country we can get, both Republican and Democrat.

The majority of Americans are neither far right or far left. Let’s hope Chafee’s primary win sets a national trend that will purge our government of the extremes from both sides.

You agree?

Duh------- The only reason we as Americans haven't been attacked since 911 is cuz we woke up out of our dead and got better security for our homeland, and that's it period!!! It has absolutely nothing to do with going off to fight any war, whether it be Iraq, afganistan, or any place else we are stationed. Believe me, if we went back to our old way of securing our borders tomorrow, I gurantee and promise you that we will be attacked very soon. Where's the democracy? All we have over there is a damn big mess! Bush will say anything for his BS political gain. Yea, he will say anything to further deceive tha american public, but he won't deceive me cuz I can see right through his damn soul. And if nobody believes what I'm saying then you need to leave that crack alone! Now don't make me have to come down there, cuz I'll slap you silly! lol

Putting aside the arguments about WMD and terrorists, can anyone tell me why they think Saddam should not have been taken out of power?

If you are going to say, "he has the right to run his country", my answer is this. If he has the 'right' to rape, murder, and torture people in his country, who is to say we don't have the right to invade him? If you say (to answer my sub-question) the UN, well the UN has said saddam must not do certain things, and he continued to do them, so why should we have to listen if he doesn't?.

I SERIOUSLY WANT TO HEAR FROM A LIBERAL HERE. Tell me why he should have been left alone.

*why do I know half the answers are going to say something like, "he didn't have weapons", and "there were official no ties to al qaeda"

Some states require it, but democrats are against mandating it nationally.

Can anyone give me a reason (other than wanting to cheat) that someone should not have to have an I.D. when they vote?

Democrats were against them even after saying they would not charge for them, and they would go to the homes of people who could not get out, and supply them with a card.

if instead of spending $7 billion per month for a miltiary presence...we used just a portion of the money to buy off different militias? (There's no way Iran can spend nearly what we can spend to influence Iraqi militias.)

A mere 12% (maybe a little more) of Americans speak two languages or more.

In Germany, that's 44%.
In Finland, that's a whopping 82%.

Is our "Welcome to America, Now Speak English" campaign going to come back to haunt us soon enough?

Since Bush became Presiden of the United States, did you think overall he did a good job? To this day, why did we attack Iraq since Saddam Hussein has nothing to do with the 9/11.

My father and grandfather were life-long Democrats. They were blue collar, union-belonging, steel factory workers, with traditional American values and attitudes. My father says he can't stand Republicans, yet culturally he has more in common with them than he does with the Dems. Since both parties are beholden to big business and powerful lobbyists, he doesn't really have a party anymore.
