Beyond the obvious repercussions in our daily lives, the White House has been able to achieve some major objectives as a direct result of 9/11: oil pipeline thru Afghanistan, control of Iraqi oil fields, fearful citizens who acquiesced to the Patriot Act, billions in non-bid contracts to Bush-supporting corporations like Halliburton.
So they tell us that the Al Qaeda did it. Their motives being “They hated Americans, hated our freedoms, our way of life….”
What if the Conspiracy theory we accept-that 19 Arabs inspired by a guy in a cave in Afghanistan defeated the most powerful country in history and, for the first time in history, defeated laws of physics to collapse three steel-framed high-rises- is inaccurate?
OOOh..but even to think about this possibility for even a second would automatically label us Anti-American and lump us with them, right?

We know levels of atmospheric carbon are higher than they've been in 800,000 years, and that this is from human activity.

We know all the world's oceans (which are a more reliable measure of mean warming than is the air) are getting warmer at exactly the rate predicted by climate scientists.

George W. Bush has admitted that global warming is real and is caused by human activities.

There is speculation that this problem may result in disruption of the gulf stream and may actually trigger a new ice-age (ironically)

So - the question here is not whether or not this is a real threat, but how we should deal with the problem. Tell me what you think.

It wasn’t hit by a plane or the falling rubble. It would be the first steel-framed, high rise building (47 stories) in history that was brought down entirely by fire alone. So why did the 9/11 commission fail to mention that it even collapsed in their report? Very much the mystery indeed….

The war on terror isn't working and I personally think its an excuse for George "Dubya" Bush to bomb people he doesn't like. Also the biggest reason is OIL isn't he friendly with the Saudis so bombing iraq and iran will appease the saudis. The war on terror isn't really working because it is alianating The US and the UK and making the UK a sitting target to bomb plots

First we had the science. Then Bush finally admitted global warming was real. Since then we've been seeing the effects around the world.

Finally, new ice-core samples show carbon levels are much higher than they've been in 800,000 years, and radiological testing shows this carbon comes from burning fossil fuel.

Can we finally stop debating this in the "politics" section?

She is just as guilty as bush for voting for and pressuring her collegues to vote for this illegal war.
My thinking is" principal over party" if they voted for this war -vote them out.
To me the biggest yard stick of politician's character is how they voted on this war.
And yes I am a democrat check my posts.
Vote every single war monger out, regardless of their party!

"The United States was attacked on September 11 and many years earlier, well before we toppled the Saddam Hussein regime,"

This is what Bush said in a news story I read, should be on the Yahoo front page. What I don't understand is if Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, why does this statement that Bush has said, seem to imply that they did?

Don't ask for the same pay if you can't do the same work, simple as that. If your task is to move some boxes and they are too heavy for you to carry, don't ask a man to do it, it's your task. If a man does it for you, then you shouldn't be getting the same pay, plain and simple. You shouldn't get extra break time just because you're on your time of the month, suck it up and drive on right. That is all, you want equal pay, do equal work.
