Is this a non sequitur? Secretary of State Rice compared the Iraq war with the American Civil War, telling a magazine that slavery might have lasted longer in this country if the North had decided to end the fight early.

Rice as smart and logical as any in the Bush administration must have some message here but I just don't follow. Can any one explain?

Is the white house being fitting with rocket boosters to one day, in case the earth is being destroyed, it could survive on the moon?

And if not, why isn't this being on on now? So that the honorable President of the YOU-nited states is able to survive in the case it's required to flee the planet?

I visited the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, PA, this past weekend and overheard some Australian tourists mockingly discussing how most Americans can't even define the term liberty...and how it is over used in America today. So I asked myself the question, as a former political science major, if I could define liberty. It was tough, and all I could really come up with was one word... freedom. Love to hear other peoples thoughts on what liberty means in the context of our founding fathers as well as in a modern day context. Thanks much!

Iran's unyielding stance appears to be based on the calculation that Russia and China, both veto-wielding permanent members of the Security Council, will oppose sanctions.

On Monday, the Iranian government insisted a hostile U.S. attitude was to blame for the crisis.

Even if Russia does veto sanctions will that stop the US? They have never listened to the UN before. Without the UN can America impose trade sanctions on thier own? I don't think they can ....but they could just attack and go to war - Will they?

It seems that some people hate Bush more than they love this country. When feminists attack Bush it just shows how willing people are to throw away their own values if someone they dislike is doing things that they themselves would do. I am talking about Bush sending the woman oppressing Taliban packing. I swear if Bush started supporting abortion all you pro-choicers would turn pro-life. Bush has also spent more money on welfare programs than any president in history and black people still say he hates them and does nothing for the poor, albeit the perpetually poor. (Seriously black folks, put down the government teat)So, is it true, do you hate Bush more than you love yourself and your country?

My question is this. Why are Republicans more successful in business than liberals? Why do we hold more advanced degrees? Why do we hold more real degrees? I could have gotten a liberal arts degree when I was in grade school. Instead I got a business degree. I think there is this myth liberals are smarter because sure, many of them have college degrees but seriously, how hard is it to get a degree in drawing?

Beneath the obvious differences in opinion and in the political spectrum, I think they're the same: political nutjobs who will do anything they can to win. A couple gets arrested for refusing to remove their anti-Bush shirts at a pro-Bush rally in West Virginia, and yet I heard the same thing happened to people opposing John Kerry. The Dems hate Dubya with a passion, and yet they stoop to the same level. They say they're against the war in Iraq---well, what are they going to do to fix that problem? Are they gonna pull our troops out, or leave 'em like Kerry wanted to?
