I've heard that people stay in a party once they decide and it is hard to change.

I changed from republican to democrat this year. Anyone else ever changed parties and from what to what?

Would the US give the finger to the entire Middle East and ignore them completely? Or would the US use this as a reason to completely tear down all the countries that it hates, now that they have nothing to lose?

Would the US ignore Israel as well, since any strategic reason for keeping them as allies would be unnecessary now that the Middle East is useless to the US? And/or on the flip-side of the coin, would the US make new enemies of countries that the US has befriended just for their oil, like Saudi Arabia?

Ok so we're always hearing how civil war is the worst possible outcome in Iraq.

With everything being the way it is, there seems to be little to anything we can do to actually prevent civil war long-term. Since it's what the people of Iraq obviously want, so why not just let them have it. Innocents will die of course, but s**t happens, it's war. The US had a bad one, and we came out ok.

So why not pull U.S. troops, let the Sunnis and the Shites sort it out for the next number of years until there's a clear winner. and once there is, work with the leader of the winning side to get access to the oil (since that's the only reason we're there in the first place, really). And if the new leader doesn't want to play nice, take him out like we did Saddam...let civil war ensue again...repeat ad nauseism.

Maybe it's not all touchy-feely like "LETS SPREAD DEMOCRACY!" but still wouldn't it be a better way since it it frees up our military/money for things that actually might make a difference.

As a Liberal, I am outraged right now.My wife recently got a boob job, and welfare only paid for 90% of it??? WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT??

When you read the news you hear about poverty and minimum wage, a lot, perhaps too much relative to the actual head count, but you NEVER hear about how well the economy is doing.

How many people, not a percentage of the population, but the real head count, live below the poverty level? I do some work with non-profits and when I see their numbers it is a miniscule number of people and it seems they choose to do so.

How many people as the sole source of income for the household exist on the minimum wage? In the same group I work with we do not have a single household that lives solely on the minimum wage.

Is fast growth of the GDP (>4.6%) a good thing or bad, and why do you think that? It seems that really fast speculative based growth always leads to a pretty steep recession, like the 90's lead to the 2001 recession. Is not consistent slow steady growth a better measure of how we are doing?

What are the real numbers? Please provide a link to your source of data.

On reality tv shows, it's perfectly okay for people to sling the word ****** here and there, calling women that for hours. But they can't say the word s.hit? S.hit isn't even being used negatively towards any group of people, it's used to describe things that are inanimate, nonexistent, why can't we say it? It just goes to show that censorship is totally ridiculous.
