Most liberals don't own guns, so thats a huge disadvantage.

Then again most conservatives are over the age of 50, that would make an ugly army.

Just to poke some fun around, Who would win?

I've seen several political questions in which people on the far right made references to using violence against liberals in their answers, such as the question below (fifth answer down). I want to know the truth: do you say these things in all honesty? Do you seriously mean it? Or is it a way to vent anger, or what? If you seriously mean it, what have liberals done to deserve such violence, in your mind? I just want to know the answer, directly from you.

According to rasmussenreports.com, "The number of Americans calling themselves Republican has fallen to its lowest level in more than two-and-a-half years. Just 31.9% of American adults now say they're affiliated with the GOP. That's down from 37.2% in October 2004"

At the same time, "The number of Democrats has grown slightly, from 36.1% at the beginning of the year to 37.3% now."

Most interestingly, though, is that "those who claim to be unaffiliated have increased to 30.8% this month. That's the highest total recorded since Rasmussen Reports began releasing this data in January 2004."

So - will many of these unaffiliated voters throw their support behind one of the "Big Two" come November, or will they support alternative parties? If so, which ones and why?

The presidential candidates are always so far left and so far right. Why not even the playing field by nominating someone who is more in the middle, like most americans?
I am a Christian, but not everyone is. Gays are not in the majority and neither are foreigners, so why choose to target these groups as a reason to elect you? Why not focus on things that are important to Americans in general, like education, health care, and social security.
Why do people get so stuck on the minor issues that will probably never be resolved?

My favorite president was Warren G. Harding because people talk so negatively about him and he is an underdog when we rate presidents. I also like the fact he was so friendly, outgoing, and a common man like me. This is based on books I read about him.

Examples: Mass international military intervention in the middle east - the assassination of a major western political figure - the collapse of the economy - the forced unification of the world under the ecological banner - heightened, emotional, unthinking partisan bickering on sites like this in which everyone parrots the same info and arguments at each other, towards the end of the partisan system into a sort of 'oneness' world government...?

Has any one noticed over the past 4 years that prior to the major elections, gas prices seem to magically decrease a bit and suddenly, there are DRAMATIC TERRORIST CAPTURES normally of a high level terrorist.

I just heard on the news that Bin Ladin's #2 guy (mind you, not Bin Ladin) was captured by US Troops.
This was followed by a congressman saying

"yeah, if we stay the course things will get better in Iraq...blach blah blah"

Following that story, I saw footage of "LOWERING GAS PRICES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY" .

Indeed, earlier today I noticed regular unleaded had dropped from $3.25 to $2.85 over the past 4 weeks.

Interestingly enough, I remember how a little over 2 years ago, RIGHT BEFORE ELECTIONS there was suddenly a decrease in gas prices and there were some dramatic terorist captures that the Bush Administration was sure to televise regularly.

Right after the elctions were over though, gas skyrocketed to the recent $2.99 average/gallon.
