There are real debates out there that are appropriate for this forum. How should we deal with terrorism? How to balance freedom and security? What is a necessary goverernment service? These are the questions we should be debating.

But when I see a few conservatives on Yahoo Answers claiming global warming is a vast left-wing conspiracy, or that evolution is a liberal plot, I'm disturbed.

If conservatives really want to be the anti-science party, I suppose that's their choice, but I have plenty of conservative friends who ARE scientists and are disgusted with this tendency in the party.

So, are my friends the exception, or are there more of you who believe in the ideals of conservatism but don't want to be associated with these folks who deny basic scientific principles?

I finally broke out of my mind warped cloud and began to learn as much as I could from world history from a different perspective than what I was taught. What I've discovered is a web of lies and deciet from the mouths of those whom we are supposedly supposed to trust. Is there anyone else out there who sees beyond the crap from the people in charge and are asking themselves what's the REAL agenda here? There definitely are some "terrorists" here and I'm beginning to look on our own soil in a nice big house in Washington DC. Why are so many Americans content with believing everything they see or are told to believe? When will people wake up and see thatwe are the puppets here in this world ruled by money and greed? When one or two families can own almost everything we come in contact with it's so easy for them to control EVERYTHING the general public believes, sees, fears, and accepts.

I ask this because I live in a blue state and have voted democratic in the past. But, lately, the democratic party seems to be doing everything it can to self-destruct. The far left activists all seem to have no other agenda than to critisize the present administration. We don't need more anti-this and anti-that rhetoric - we need solutions and agendas that will help this country regain the world's respect and support.
And I fully realize that the fringe element of the left doesn't speak for the entire party - and, yet, the party doesn't seem to object to all of the crap, half-truths and outright lies that are aimed directly at the present administration. I am not a staunch Bush supporter, but I'm slowly getting so sick and tired of the other side that their stredegy is backfiring ! Serious comments welcome - Bush bashing will only help support my position.

I don't understand why everyone blames Bush, like he is the sole reason the world is so f*%ked up. Do you honestly think one man effects the entire world to that degree? I don't think there is a single person who uses the this website that could handle ONE DAY of Bush's extremely difficult job. So if you have the answers, lets hear'um smart asses. I don't understand were President Bush is actually coming from, here (although I could guess). I see that as an nation (and under the Bush administration), that we already have very little desire to help anyone outside of our counrty (mostly out of fear), from the Republican mind set. The Iraq people do not live in a society of freedom as now, (and I hope they do in the future). What do you think he could mean with this quote?
