"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

I see questions left and right about how liberals side with terrorists, but it seems to be nothing more than Anne Coulter, un backed, slander.

For the record...I don't like liberal whining. I also hate conservative adoration of themselves. So, this is for conservatives...

Provide me a link where a liberal says they support terrorists....please. The link has to either quote a known liberal for saying this or, if they aren't known, they have to say "I am liberal" or something like that. You can't quote a terrorist and say that terrorist is a liberal.

And supporting them can't simply be opposition to your point of view (against the war, 9/11 is an inside job, don't like lieberman, etc.)

They have to say "I SUPPORT TERRORISM/TERRORISTS...."...you know, even though I wouldn't agree with it, how about anyone in the USA who holds any weight saying "I support Hezbollah".

It is time for everyone to back up their accusations, otherwise you are just bickering schoolyard P U S S I E S.

how can you argue against a theory that you haven't researched for yourself? if you're only familiar with one or two pieces of the research, how can you effectively disprove it? for example- does proving that cell phones work on airplanes really disprove the theory (not that i've ever read anything that really used the "cell phones don't work on planes" argument to prove the theory)? how many people that don't believe that the US government played some sort of role in either perpetrating the attack, or allowing it to occur have actually read even 1 book about the subject? what was it?

President Bill Clinton, Democrat
In February 1993, the World Trade Center was bombed by Muslim fanatics, killing five people and injuring hundreds.
Clinton did nothing.
In October 1993, eighteen American troops were killed in a savage firefight in Somalia. The corpse of one American was dragged through the streets of Mogadishu as the Somalian hordes cheered.
Clinton responded by ordering our troops home. Osama bin Laden later told ABC News, "The youth . . . realized more than before that the American soldier was a paper tiger and after a few blows ran in defeat."
In November 1995, five Americans were killed and thirty wounded by a car bomb in Saudi Arabia set by Muslim extremists.
Clinton did nothing.
In June 1996, a U.S. Air Force housing complex in Saudi Arabia was bombed by Muslim extremists.
Clinton did nothing.
Months later, Saddam attacked the Kurdish-controlled city of Erbil.
Clinton lobbed some bombs into Iraq, hundreds of miles from Saddam's forces. There is more

everyone always says that conspiricy theories are based on poor research, however, people who research them (or at least the ones I'M familiar with) know that they are subject to much more scrutiny than everyone else (like the news). wouldn't this generally mean that people who research conspiricy theories have to do far better and more complete research in order to be taken the least bit seriously?

This is totally untrue. In fact, researchers are looking into using marijuana to help crack addicts to quit. There are 40 million people in this country (U.S.) who have smoked marijuana for a period of their lives -- why aren't there tens of millions of heroin users, then? In Amsterdam, both marijuana use and heroin use went *down* after marijuana was decriminalized -- even though there was a short rise in cannabis use right after decriminalization. Unlike addictive drugs, marijuana causes almost no tolerance. Some people even report a reverse tolerance. That is, the longer they have used the less marijuana they need to get `high.' So users of marijuana do not usually get bored and `look for something more powerful'. If anything, marijuana keeps people from doing harder drugs.

The idea that using marijuana will lead you to use heroin or speed is called the `gateway theory' or the `stepping stone hypothesis. . . .

Marijuana does not turn young healthy boys into lanky, girlish looking wimps, no. This scare tactic (call it homo-phobic if you will) was a common device used in early anti-drug literature. It attempts to scare boys away from marijuana by telling them, essentially, that it will turn them into a girl. Young men probably should not use marijuana heavily (see the section on amotivational syndrome), but the risks are not horrendous.

Anti-marijuana pamphlets used this claim often during Reefer Madness II, but the studies which are cited are mostly faulty or misinterpreted. This is not to say that marijuana use does not affect childhood development at all, just that the effects are not as drastic as some people would like them to sound. In fact they are pretty much unknown.
