I hear that most Arabs are peace loving people and that it's just a few bad apples that support terrorism...yet the excuse I hear why these people don't protest their government is that dissenters tend to get killed. Fair enough but...

given that, this situation sounds very much like the fear typical German citizens had to deal with when they couldn't effectively stand up to Hitler.

So wouldn't we be performing a SERVICE if we helped these good people overthrow their tyrannical governments? Then they will be able to enjoy the freedom to speak out AND peace.

Politically obsessed people, be they 'lib or con' seem to be people who have their entire indentity wrapped up in the 'win/lose' 'it's us or them' 'vicarious power trip' mentality. They also seem to be people who are unable to think independently for themselves but accept someone else's version of reality as their own. This explains the cable 'news-shows' popularity and success. What do you think?

Does someone besides me think its suspicious that the government and its allies always seem to bring a terror alert when its ratings are down or key senators start losing the race based on War backlash, hint: Tony Blair and Bush losing their ratings and Joe Liberman losing primary?
